What is Mahila Samriddhi Yojana in Gujarat?

Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is a micro-credit scheme run by the Gujarat Thakor and Koli Vikas Nigam (GTKVN) under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. The Nigam is also written as the Gujarat Thakore and Koli Development Corporation in its English records, and the scheme is often searched for locally as Mahila Samruddhi Yojana or simply the "GTKVN mahila loan".

Mahila Samriddhi Yojana exists for one narrow purpose: to put working capital in the hands of a woman from the Thakor or Koli community who already has a skill and wants to trade on it. The Nigam does not run a training programme under this head and does not give a grant. It lends money, at a concessional rate, against security, and expects it back over four years.

The scheme sits inside the national micro-finance architecture of the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC), which routes Mahila Samriddhi funds to state channel partners such as GTKVN. NBCFDC's own scheme description sets the outer boundaries, women of backward classes, family income up to Rs 3,00,000 a year, a six-month moratorium on principal, repayment inside four years, and 95 percent of the money coming from the national corporation. GTKVN then applies Gujarat's own caste scope and loan ceiling on top.

Key features published by GTKVN

  • Maximum loan of Rs 1,25,000 per beneficiary.
  • 100 percent of the proposed business or trade amount is financed, the guidelines do not ask the woman for a margin contribution.
  • Repayment in 48 equal monthly instalments including interest.
  • Age band of 21 to 50 years on the date of application.
  • Annual family income ceiling of Rs 3,00,000, with at least 50 percent of the total loan corpus reserved for families earning up to Rs 1,50,000 a year.
  • Suitable security must be offered by the applicant.
  • Applications are taken online only, on gtkdconline.gujarat.gov.in.

On the interest rate the two official records differ in detail. The GTKVN scheme page states that the rate of interest is fixed by government from time to time and does not print a figure; the myScheme national repository records 4 percent per annum for this scheme, which matches the NBCFDC channel-partner-to- beneficiary rate. Treat 4 percent as the working figure and confirm it in writing at the district office before you sign.

Who is eligible for the GTKVN Mahila Samriddhi loan?

A woman can apply if all of these hold:

  • She is a resident of Gujarat.
  • She belongs to the Thakor or Koli caste, evidenced by a caste certificate from the competent revenue authority.
  • She is at least 21 and not more than 50 years old on the date of application.
  • Her annual family income is Rs 3,00,000 or less.
  • She has relevant skill or experience in the trade she proposes, which the Nigam checks where the trade is technical.
  • She can offer suitable security for the loan.

Who cannot apply

  • A man of the Thakor or Koli community is not eligible under this particular head; GTKVN runs separate term loan and New Swarnima schemes for other applicants.
  • A woman from any other caste or community cannot apply to GTKVN. Women of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes are served by the corresponding Gujarat corporations instead.
  • A woman aged 20 or below, or 51 and above, cannot apply.
  • A family with annual income above Rs 3,00,000 is not eligible.
  • An applicant who is an existing defaulter of a GTKVN loan, or whose family already has an outstanding GTKVN direct-credit or education loan, cannot apply. The portal states plainly that only one member of a family may hold such a loan.
  • A woman who cannot offer security is not eligible, however sound the business plan.
  • A person resident outside Gujarat cannot apply.

The income reservation is worth understanding rather than skipping. GTKVN sets aside at least half the total loan amount for families whose annual income is within Rs 1,50,000. A woman well below the ceiling is therefore competing in a protected pool, not against applicants at the top of the income band.

What documents are required?

Document Mandatory Notes
Caste certificate (Thakor or Koli) Yes From the competent revenue authority
Income certificate Yes Family income within Rs 3,00,000
Aadhaar card Yes Identity, and name match with the bank account
Gujarat residence proof Yes Ration card, utility bill, voter card or Talati certificate

Passport-size photograph Yes Uploaded in the online form
Age proof Yes Must show age between 21 and 50
Security or collateral papers Yes Property papers or a solvent guarantor

Scan every document as a clear, readable file before you begin. The GTKVN portal warns that an application is valid only after the photograph and documents are uploaded and the application is confirmed. An incomplete upload leaves a draft that no officer will ever see.

How to apply for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana

  1. Open the GTKVN loan portal at gtkdconline.gujarat.gov.in and register with your own active mobile number. The Nigam sends every status update to that number, so do not use a shopkeeper's or an agent's phone.
  2. Log in and click "Apply Now" on the top menu bar, then select the loan scheme name — Mahila Samriddhi Yojana: from the list of economic upliftment schemes.
  3. Select the loan category and enter the loan amount you need, up to Rs 1,25,000. Ask for what the trade actually costs; an inflated figure invites a query and a delay.
  4. Fill the application form with personal information (name, gender, date of birth, caste), permanent and correspondence address, monthly family income and its source, the loan requirement and its proposed use, and your bank account details for disbursement.
  5. Upload scanned copies of the caste certificate, income certificate, Aadhaar card, passport-size photograph, first page of the bank passbook and residence proof.
  6. Click "Preview" and check every field, especially the bank account number and the spelling of your name as it appears in Aadhaar.
  7. Submit the form and note the Application ID or reference number the system generates. Print or save the acknowledgement.
  8. Complete the security formalities at the district Deputy Commissioner (Social Welfare) office when called. The sanction is issued after the security is accepted and the case is verified.

How do I check my application status and repay?

Log in to gtkdconline.gujarat.gov.in with the registered mobile number and password, and open the application status page using the Application ID. The same portal carries a loan repayment option, so the 48 monthly instalments can be paid online rather than by visiting the district office each month.

Keep the sanction letter. It carries the sanctioned amount, the interest rate actually applied and the instalment schedule, and it is the document a bank or a later scheme will ask to see.

Why do GTKVN loan applications get rejected?

  • No acceptable security. This is the most common reason. The guidelines require suitable security and a district office will not sanction without it.
  • Caste certificate not in the applicant's own name, or issued for a community other than Thakor or Koli.
  • Income certificate above Rs 3,00,000, or an income certificate that has expired. Get a fresh certificate before applying.
  • Age outside the 21 to 50 band on the date of application: check the date of birth in Aadhaar, because the portal computes age from what you enter.
  • An existing GTKVN loan in the family. Only one member of a family may hold a direct-credit or education loan, and an outstanding balance blocks a fresh application outright.
  • Unconfirmed application. Filling the form is not enough; the portal treats an application as valid only after documents are uploaded and confirmation is clicked.
  • Unreadable uploads. A blurred passbook page or a dark photograph of a certificate is treated as a missing document.
  • No skill evidence for a technical trade, where the proposed business needs training the applicant cannot show.

Where do I complain or ask for help?

  • Gujarat Thakor and Koli Vikas Nigam, Block No. 16, Ground Floor, Dr. Jivraj Mehta Bhavan, Gandhinagar, phone +91 79 23256486, is the head office for the scheme and for portal problems.
  • District Deputy Commissioner, Social Welfare handles verification, security acceptance and disbursement queries in your own district.
  • Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat at sje.gujarat.gov.in is the escalation route above the Nigam.
  • NBCFDC toll free 18001023399 answers questions about the national Mahila Samriddhi funding line, though the loan itself is sanctioned by GTKVN.

No fee is payable to any agent for filing a Mahila Samriddhi Yojana application. The form is free, the portal is free, and the district office charges nothing to verify a case.

Frequently asked questions

How much loan does Mahila Samriddhi Yojana give in Gujarat?

Mahila Samriddhi Yojana lends up to Rs 1,25,000 to one eligible woman, according to the scheme page published by the Gujarat Thakor and Koli Vikas Nigam on sje.gujarat.gov.in. The Nigam finances 100 percent of the proposed trade or business amount, so no beneficiary margin is demanded in the guidelines.

Who can apply for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana under GTKVN?

A woman of the Thakor or Koli community who is a resident of Gujarat, aged between 21 and 50 on the date of application, and whose annual family income does not exceed Rs 3,00,000 can apply. She must also be able to offer suitable security for the loan.

What is the interest rate on the GTKVN Mahila Samriddhi loan?

The myScheme entry for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana (GTKVN) records the rate as 4 percent per annum. The Nigam's own portal states only that the rate of interest is fixed by government from time to time, so confirm the current rate with the district office before signing the loan papers.

How is the Mahila Samriddhi loan repaid?

The loan is repaid in 48 equal monthly instalments, that is four years, including interest. Repayment can be made through the online repayment option on gtkdconline.gujarat.gov.in.

Can two women in the same family take this loan?

No. The GTKVN portal states that only one member of a family may apply for a direct-credit or education loan, and a family with an outstanding GTKVN loan cannot apply again until it is cleared.

Is there an offline form for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana?

No. Applications are accepted only online through the GTKVN loan portal at gtkdconline.gujarat.gov.in. The district Deputy Commissioner's office helps with documents and verification but does not accept a paper form for this scheme.

Is collateral compulsory for this loan?

Yes. The GTKVN scheme conditions require the applicant to provide suitable security to get the loan. This is the single condition that most often stops an otherwise eligible applicant, so arrange the security papers or a solvent guarantor before starting the online form.

How do I check the status of my GTKVN loan application?

Log in to gtkdconline.gujarat.gov.in with the mobile number and password used at registration and open the application status page using the application ID generated at submission. Keep the acknowledgement printout, because the application ID is the only reference the district office uses.
