Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF)

Agriculture Infrastructure Fund is a Rs 1 lakh crore Central Sector financing facility that gives farmers, FPOs, cooperatives and agri-entrepreneurs a 3% interest subvention on term loans up to Rs 2 crore for post-harvest infrastructure, plus free CGTMSE credit guarantee cover. Applications are filed online at agriinfra.dac.gov.in with a Detailed Project Report.

Kisan Credit Card (KCC)

Kisan Credit Card gives farmers short-term crop loans at an effective 4% interest a year to 7% base rate, less a 3% prompt repayment incentive: under the Modified Interest Subvention Scheme. Loans up to Rs 2 lakh need no collateral, the card is valid 5 years, and you apply at any bank branch or through jansamarth.in.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana is the central crop insurance scheme where a farmer pays just 2% of sum insured for kharif crops, 1.5% for rabi crops and 5% for commercial and horticultural crops, with governments paying the rest. Enrolment is voluntary for every farmer and is done free at pmfby.gov.in, banks or Common Service Centres.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN)

PM-KISAN is a Central Sector scheme of the Ministry of Agriculture that pays Rs 6,000 a year to land-holding farmer families, released as three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 directly into the bank account. PM-KUSUM is the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy scheme that gives farmers 30% central financial assistance to 50% in North Eastern, hilly and island states; on standalone solar pumps up to 7.5 HP and on solarising grid-connected pumps, with states adding at least 30% more. Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY)

Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana is the Government of India's flagship fisheries scheme, launched on 10 September 2020 with an investment of about Rs 20,050 crore. It funds up to 40% of project cost for general beneficiaries and 60% for SC, ST and women. Fishers and fish farmers apply through the state fisheries department.

Digital Agriculture Mission

Digital Agriculture Mission is an umbrella scheme approved in September 2024 with an outlay of Rs 2,817 crore, including a central share of Rs 1,940 crore. The mission builds AgriStack, the Krishi Decision Support System and soil profile mapping. Farmers benefit by getting a free Aadhaar-linked Farmer ID through state camps or the state farmer registry portal.

Namo Drone Didi is a Central Sector scheme with an outlay of Rs 1,261 crore that gives women Self Help Groups under DAY-NRLM a farm drone package with 80 per cent central assistance up to Rs 8 lakh. Selected SHGs get 15 days of pilot training and earn by spraying fertiliser and pesticide for farmers on rent.

e-NAM is a pan-India electronic trading portal of the Ministry of Agriculture that links more than 1,500 APMC mandis into one national market for over 230 agricultural commodities. Farmers, traders and FPOs register free on enam.gov.in or at the mandi help desk, sell on quality-assayed online bids and receive payment in their bank account.

National Food Security Mission (NFSM)

National Food Security Mission is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme that raises production of rice, wheat, pulses, coarse cereals, nutri-cereals and oilseeds through subsidised seed, demonstrations and farm machinery. NFSM seed subsidy is capped at 2 hectares per farmer, and farmers apply through the district agriculture office or the state agriculture portal.

National Mission on Natural Farming is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme with an outlay of Rs 2,481 crore that pays farmers Rs 15,000 per hectare a year for three years to set up on-farm input production. NMNF targets 15,000 clusters, 1 crore farmers and 7.5 lakh hectares, with 10,000 Bio-input Resource Centres.

PM-AASHA is an umbrella price assurance scheme of the Ministry of Agriculture with an outlay of Rs 35,000 crore, covering the Price Support Scheme, Price Deficiency Payment Scheme, Market Intervention Scheme and Price Stabilisation Fund. Farmers register free on the NAFED e-Samridhi or NCCF e-Samyukti portal to sell notified pulses, oilseeds and copra at MSP.

PMKSY funds state irrigation projects rather than individual grants, so farmers benefit through district works, not by applying online.

Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana is a centrally sponsored scheme funded 60:40 between the Centre and states, 90:10 for North Eastern and Himalayan states, that finances state agriculture projects. RKVY covers soil health, micro irrigation, organic farming and farm machinery, and farmers apply through their state agriculture department, not to the Centre.

SVAMITVA Yojana

SVAMITVA Yojana is a Central Sector scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj that drone-surveys inhabited (abadi) village land and issues legal Property Cards to rural owners. Piloted on 24 April 2020 and scaled nationwide from 24 April 2021, it had prepared about 3.06 crore Property Cards across 1.86 lakh villages by early 2026. There is no individual application; the survey runs village by village.

Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY)

Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is a Ministry of Rural Development programme, launched on 11 October 2014, under which each Member of Parliament adopts a Gram Panchayat and turns it into a model village. SAGY allocates no separate fund; development runs by converging existing schemes. Villages are chosen by the MP, not by individual application.

Soil Health Card Scheme

Soil Health Card Scheme gives farmers a free soil test report covering 12 soil parameters with crop-wise fertiliser recommendations. Launched in 2015, the scheme has issued more than 25 crore cards and now runs as the Soil Health and Fertility component of RKVY. Farmers apply at soilhealth.dac.gov.in or through the district agriculture office.

Agri-Clinics and Agri-Business Centres Scheme (ACABC)

ACABC is a Ministry of Agriculture scheme that gives agriculture graduates and diploma holders a free two-month residential training plus a bank loan with back-ended composite subsidy of 36% of project cost, or 44% for women, SC/ST and NE and hill state candidates. Project cost up to Rs 20 lakh qualifies. Register at acabcmis.gov.in.

Agricultural Extension (ATMA Scheme)

Agricultural Extension, delivered through the ATMA scheme of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, funds farmer training, demonstrations, exposure visits and farm schools in every district. Farmers do not receive cash; they access free advisory services through the district ATMA. Central funding runs at 90:10 for hill and north-eastern states and 60:40 elsewhere.

Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure (AMI) Scheme

The Agricultural Marketing Infrastructure (AMI) scheme, a sub-scheme of ISAM run by the Directorate of Marketing and Inspection, gives a credit-linked, back-ended subsidy of 25% (33.33% for special categories) to build godowns and rural marketing infrastructure. Farmers, FPOs, cooperatives and agri-entrepreneurs apply through their financing bank, with subsidy routed via NABARD or NCDC.

Agriculture and Processed Foods Export Promotion Scheme of APEDA (15th Finance Commission Cycle, 2021-22 to 2025-26)

APEDA's Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) for the 15th Finance Commission cycle 2021-22 to 2025-26 reimburses part of the cost of exporting agricultural and processed foods under three components; export infrastructure, quality development and market development. It is open to APEDA-registered exporters holding a valid RCMC, who apply online through the APEDA portal against documented, incurred expenditure.

Central Assistance for One-Time Settlement of Displaced Families from PoK and Chhamb (PM Development Package)

The IARI Scholarship is a merit-based stipend for postgraduate students of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute's Post Graduate School in New Delhi. M.Sc. scholars receive a junior scholarship of Rs 7,560 a month plus a Rs 6,000 yearly contingency grant, and Ph.D. scholars receive a senior scholarship with a Rs 10,000 contingency. The National Water Awards recognise exemplary work in water conservation and management across India.
