What is the IARI Scholarship?

The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) Scholarship is a merit-based financial support for postgraduate students of the IARI Post Graduate School in New Delhi. IARI, also known as Pusa Institute, is a premier agricultural research and education institution under the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. • You are not admitted to an IARI postgraduate programme, the scholarship is not an open, apply-from-outside grant.
• You already hold an external fellowship such as the ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF, in which case you receive that fellowship and not the institute scholarship on top.
• You fall short of the minimum academic requirement, which can lead to the scholarship being withheld.

How much does the IARI Scholarship provide?

The M.Sc. junior scholarship is around Rs 7,560 per month, with a Rs 6,000 per year contingency grant for books, experimental materials and study tours. For Ph.D. students, a higher senior-level scholarship is paid each month along with a Rs 10,000 per year contingency grant that additionally covers thesis-related costs.

The monthly scholarship is credited to the student's bank account, and the contingency grant is provided on the terms set by the Post Graduate School. Rates are periodically revised by ICAR and IARI, so admitted students should confirm the current figure from the Post Graduate School at the time of admission.
