DGR Security Agency Scheme: How to Check Registration, Empanelment and Sponsorship Status
This is a supporting guide for DGR Security Agency Scheme. See the main guide for full eligibility, benefits and documents.
Where to check your DGR status
Check your DGR Security Agency Scheme status on dgrindia.gov.in, which publishes both a login-based registration record and public status lists. Because the scheme runs in three sequential stages: registration, empanelment and sponsorship; "status" means a different thing at each stage, and the Directorate General Resettlement puts each one in a different place on the portal. This guide maps each stage to where you check it; the DGR Security Agency Scheme pillar covers eligibility, documents and the full registration walkthrough.
Stage 1: Registration status
When you upload the three mandatory documents together, the release order (all pages), the PPO (or Gratuity Order for Short Service officers), and the Veterans Identity Card (or CSD card if re-employed). The system generates a 5-digit acknowledgement number. That number is your handle for tracking Stage 1.
- Acknowledgement generated: your documents are uploaded and awaiting DGR's internal Board of Officers.
- Registration number issued (Step 2): DGR has completed the Board of Officers and issued a registration number. Your seniority runs from this date of registration, which is why it matters.
- Acknowledgement auto-cancelled: if the three mandatory documents were not uploaded simultaneously, DGR's system auto-cancels the acknowledgement number during verification, and you must register again.
To see where you stand, log in to the registration management system on dgrindia.gov.in, and separately check the Status of ESM Registered Officers page listed under the Registration menu, which DGR maintains for officers to confirm their registration.
Stage 2: Empanelment status
After you receive a registration number, you apply for empanelment under the Security Agency Scheme and submit the empanelment documents plus the affidavit in the revised Appendix B format (on stamp paper, attested by a notary public). DGR publishes a state-wise status of Security Agencies and a separate status of empanelled ESM Corporations on the security agency page. Find your agency's name in your operating state's list to confirm empanelment took effect.
Note DGR's timing rule on paperwork: the list of documents required to collect the empanelment certificate was revised with effect from 15 August 2026, so submit the current list shown on the portal, not an older one.
Stage 3: Sponsorship status
Empanelment does not by itself bring a contract. In Stage 3, principal employers, central public sector undertakings, banks, corporates and educational institutions — project their requirement to DGR in the prescribed requisition format (Appendix F for PSUs), and DGR sponsors an empanelled agency against it. There is no personal "payment status" here, because the scheme is not a cash grant: your income comes from the security contract obtained. Track sponsorship by staying in contact with the Directorate of Employment (Security Agency) and by watching for requisitions, including the GeM portal, where DGR-empanelled ESM security services are listed as a service category.
What each situation means, and what to do
- No acknowledgement number after upload. The upload did not complete; re-upload all three documents together, each file under 2 MB with an alphabets-only file name.
- Acknowledgement present but no registration number, you are awaiting the Board of Officers; this is normal and time-based.
- Acknowledgement disappeared: likely auto-cancelled for piecemeal upload; register again with all three files at once.
- Registered but not in the state empanelment list: complete Stage 3 empanelment and submit the current empanelment-certificate documents.
- Need to re-register; email regndgr@desw.gov.in requesting deletion of the previous record, quoting your name, rank, acknowledgement number, mobile number and the earlier email ID.

FAQ
Does DGR send status updates by SMS? The portal does not advertise an SMS status service; rely on your login, the Status of ESM Registered Officers page, and the state-wise status lists.
Is seniority the same as sponsorship priority? Seniority is fixed by your date of registration with DGR. Sponsorship is against actual requisitions from principal employers; no agent or middleman can alter either.
Can a JCO or other rank check an empanelment status here? No. Only retired officers and State Government owned ESM Corporations are empanelled as agencies; JCOs and other ranks are employed as guards, not empanelled themselves.
