Who is eligible for the Rs 10,000 education assistance?

Your child can receive the benefit if:

• The parent is a registered building and other construction worker with the Maharashtra BOCW Welfare Board, with registration live at the time of the claim.
• The parent met the Board's registration test: aged 18 to 60 and having worked at least 90 days in construction in the preceding 12 months.
• The student is currently studying in Class 11 or Class 12, in Maharashtra.
• The student is the first or second child of the registered worker.

Why education claims get rejected, and how to fix them

• Registration not renewed, by far the most common cause. Renew first on the portal's renewal module, then refile the claim.
• Third child claimed — the two-child cap is applied strictly, and no appeal route around it has been published.
• Marksheet not attached, or the wrong year's marksheet, the Board asks specifically for the 11th or 12th class marksheet.
• No proof of current admission, a marksheet alone shows a past year; the bonafide certificate shows the student is still enrolled.
• Bank details wrong. A mismatched IFSC or an account in a name unrelated to the worker causes the credit to fail after approval.
• Blurred uploads: phone photographs of folded certificates are frequently returned for a clean rescan.

A returned claim is not a rejection. The same claim can be corrected and resubmitted on the portal without starting over.

What comes after Class 12?

Maharashtra's BOCW Board keeps supporting the same student beyond junior college, but each stage is a fresh claim. A degree course attracts Rs 20,000 a year, a diploma Rs 20,000 a year and a post-graduate diploma Rs 25,000 a year. An engineering degree attracts a one-time Rs 60,000 and a medical degree a one-time Rs 1,00,000.
