Mukhya Mantri Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Yojana (MMKSY)
Gujarat state government scheme
Mukhya Mantri Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Yojana (MMKSY) is listed on the national myScheme portal as a Gujarat scheme for women farmers, offering training, credit access and market linkage. Important caution: none of the 139 schemes published by Gujarat's Agriculture Department matches it, and the only source myScheme cites is the central MKSP guidelines. Verify before applying.
What is Mukhya Mantri Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Yojana?
Mukhya Mantri Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Yojana (MMKSY) is listed against Gujarat on the Government of India's myScheme portal as a scheme for women farmers. The myScheme description says that women farmers in Gujarat are provided with financial assistance and training to raise their agricultural productivity and income, through five components: financial assistance for farm inputs, seeds and equipment; training and capacity building; formation of women farmer groups; access to credit through financial institutions; and market linkage for their produce. The same page states an expectation of benefiting around 7 lakh women farmers in Gujarat.
This guide has to start with a caution, because accuracy matters more than completeness. A check of Gujarat's own government sources on 2 August 2026 did not find this scheme:
- The Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department publishes a full machine-readable scheme list at agri.gujarat.gov.in covering 139 scheme entries across agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, animal husbandry, co-operation and agro-industries. No entry matches Mukhya Mantri Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Yojana or any close variant of the name.
- The iKhedut portal, which is where Gujarat routes farmer applications, has no such component.
- The only source cited on the myScheme entry itself is the central MKSP agriculture guidelines PDF, that is, the guidelines of the Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana, a women-farmer component of the Government of India's Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission, not a Gujarat scheme.
The most probable explanation is that the myScheme entry describes the central MKSP as it operates in Gujarat, under a "Mukhya Mantri" title that no Gujarat resolution appears to use. MKSP is implemented through rural livelihoods institutions and self-help groups rather than through individual applications for cash, which is why no application form for it exists at a Gujarat agriculture office.
Who is eligible for MMKSY?
The eligibility conditions below are those published on the myScheme entry. They are not confirmed by a Gujarat government notification.
The listing says you can apply if:
- You are a woman farmer who owns or operates agricultural land. The size of the holding is stated not to be a criterion.
- You are a resident of Gujarat.
- You are of any age. The listing says there is no age limit.
- You register with the Department of Agriculture and Co-operation.
Women farmers may also form groups and apply collectively, according to the same listing. Preference is stated to go to women farmers from economically weaker sections, though no income ceiling is specified.
The listing says you cannot apply, or are not eligible, if:
- You are a government employee.
- You are already taking a benefit under another scheme for the same purpose.
- You are a man, the listing restricts the scheme to women farmers.
How much assistance does MMKSY give?
No benefit amount is confirmed by any Gujarat government source. The myScheme FAQ text mentions financial assistance "of up to Rs 50,000 per year", but that text is unattributed, does not correspond to any Gujarat resolution found in this check, and does not appear in the central MKSP guidelines cited as the page's source. It should not be treated as a benefit you can claim.
What the listing describes in general terms is assistance for buying seeds, fertiliser, pesticides and farm equipment; training and skill development in areas such as organic farming, dairy farming, horticulture and agro-processing; easier access to institutional credit; market linkage for produce; and crop insurance cover.
How to apply for MMKSY
The myScheme listing describes an offline process. Follow it only after you have confirmed at your Taluka Agriculture Office that the scheme exists in your district under this name.
- Ask first. Visit your Taluka Agriculture Office or the office of the District Agriculture Officer and ask whether any scheme by this name is being implemented, and under which resolution. If the answer is no, stop here and use the alternatives in the next section.
- Collect the application form from the nearest government agriculture office or village panchayat office, if one is issued.
- Fill in the form with your personal details, landholding details and the agricultural activity you are seeking support for.
- Attach the documents — Aadhaar card, land ownership document or lease agreement, bank account details, and a caste or income certificate where applicable.
- Submit the form to the agriculture office or village panchayat office and obtain an acknowledgement receipt.
- Follow up on verification. The listing says the concerned authorities verify the application and inform the applicant of acceptance or the reasons for rejection.
What should a woman farmer in Gujarat do instead?
Gujarat does run real, published support for women in farming. These are the routes with verifiable state notifications behind them:
- Agricultural Skill Development Training Programme for Women Farmers and Farmers, run by the Agriculture Department at 28 farmer training centres, under a gender audit that reserves a 50:50 split of training seats between women and men. Apply at the district farmer training centre or through your Gram Sevak.
- iKhedut components with a higher rate for women. Several Gujarat schemes pay women beneficiaries at the same enhanced rate as SC and ST beneficiaries, for example, inland fisheries components where the general rate is 40 per cent and the rate for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and women beneficiaries is 60 per cent.
- Animal husbandry components where women get priority, including the poultry unit schemes of the Directorate of Animal Husbandry, which state that female beneficiaries are given priority, and the separate assistance scheme related to animal husbandry for widow women.
- Self-help group routes under the national rural livelihoods mission, which is what MKSP actually works through. Your village-level SHG federation or the block rural development office is the entry point.
Where do I get help?
- Taluka Agriculture Office / District Agriculture Officer. The authority that can confirm whether a scheme is live in your district.
- iKhedut portal, ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in; Gujarat's actual application system for farmer schemes.
- Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department, Gandhinagar, telephone 079-23250803.
Never pay a fee, to anyone, to be "registered" for a scheme you cannot find on a Gujarat government website. If someone shows you a link or a form for MMKSY, ask them for the government resolution number and date. A genuine Gujarat scheme always has one, and it is always published.

Frequently asked questions
Is Mukhya Mantri Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Yojana a real Gujarat scheme?
MMKSY appears on the Government of India's myScheme portal under Gujarat, but it could not be traced to any Gujarat government source. None of the 139 schemes published on the Gujarat Agriculture Department's own scheme list matches this name, and no resolution or portal page for it exists on agri.gujarat.gov.in or ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in.
How much money does MMKSY give?
No amount is confirmed by any Gujarat government source. An unofficial figure of Rs 50,000 a year circulates in the myScheme FAQ text, but that text cites no state notification and should not be relied on.
What is MKSP, and is it the same thing?
MKSP is the Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana, a women-farmer component of the central Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission, and the only source cited on the myScheme MMKSY entry is the central MKSP agriculture guidelines. MKSP works through self-help groups and community institutions, not through individual cash applications.
Where should a woman farmer in Gujarat actually go?
Go to the iKhedut portal at ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in and to your Taluka Agriculture Office. Gujarat delivers women-farmer support through named, published schemes such as the Agricultural Skill Development Training Programme for Women Farmers and Farmers, and through the SC, ST and general components of horticulture, mechanisation and animal husbandry schemes, several of which carry a higher subsidy rate for women.
Can I apply for MMKSY online?
No online application exists. The myScheme listing itself describes the process as offline, at a government agriculture office or village panchayat office.
Should I pay anyone to register for MMKSY?
No. Never pay a fee to register for a scheme whose existence you cannot confirm on a state government website. Gujarat's genuine agriculture schemes are applied for free of cost on iKhedut or at government offices.
