How to apply for PM-AASHA: step-by-step MSP registration

Registering under Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay SanraksHan Abhiyan (PM-AASHA) is done before the procurement window opens, on NAFED's e-Samridhi portal or NCCF's e-Samyukti portal, or through your primary agricultural cooperative society. Only pre-registered farmers are assured purchase at MSP. This guide walks through every screen and decision; the parent PM-AASHA guide covers what the scheme is and who qualifies.

A one-line eligibility reminder: you must be a farmer who actually grew a notified pulse, oilseed or copra crop, in a state and season where procurement has been sanctioned. Everything below assumes you clear that.

Step 1 to Confirm procurement is open for your crop and state

PM-AASHA procurement is not open all year. The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (agriwelfare.gov.in) and the state agriculture department notify a procurement window for each crop before harvest. Registration usually closes well before procurement ends. Check the notified window and the notified Minimum Support Price for your crop and season first, the MSP changes every year and is announced on the recommendation of the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices.

Step 2 to Choose your registration channel

Three routes lead to the same registration:

1. e-Samridhi (NAFED), for most pulses, oilseeds and copra procurement.
2. e-Samyukti (NCCF). The parallel NCCF portal; your state notification will say which agency is the nodal buyer for your crop.
3. Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS), the society operator can register you on the same portals if you cannot self-register.

Step 3 to Create your registration

On the chosen portal, select farmer registration and enter, screen by screen:

1. Name and mobile number, the mobile number carries the OTP, slot allotment and payment alerts, so use a number you control.
2. Aadhaar number; used for identity and to seed the payment account.
3. Bank account number and IFSC — the account must be in your own name and Aadhaar-seeded, because MSP is paid only by Direct Benefit Transfer.
4. Land record details, khasra/khatauni or your state equivalent, showing the sown area.
5. Crop, sown area and expected quantity, declare the acreage accurately, because the quantity you may sell is worked out from your registered area and the notified average yield.

Verify with the OTP sent to your mobile.

Step 4 to Wait for verification and approval

A revenue or agriculture official verifies your sowing entry (girdawari) against the crop declared. Some states require a patwari-certified sowing certificate before approval. Once verified, your registration is approved and you become eligible for a procurement slot.

Step 5 to Receive your slot or token

The portal allots a slot or token for a specific procurement centre on a specific date. Save the registration slip. You carry it to the centre. Do not pay anyone for a token or a slot; registration and procurement are free, and any such demand should be reported to the centre in-charge or district collector.

Step 6 to Bring produce to the procurement centre

On the allotted date, take the produce to the notified centre. It is checked against Fair Average Quality (FAQ) norms: moisture, foreign matter and damaged grain; then weighed. Produce above the moisture limit is the single most common cause of rejection, so dry the grain adequately before you go.

Step 7 to Collect the receipt and track payment

After acceptance, collect the acknowledgement or purchase receipt. Payment then reaches your Aadhaar-seeded account by DBT. Track it through the alerts on your registered mobile.

FAQ

Can I register at the centre itself? Registration is meant to be done in advance on e-Samridhi or e-Samyukti or via PACS; unregistered farmers are generally turned away because quantities are allotted against registrations.

Is there a fee? No. Registration on both portals and sale at a notified centre are free.
