How the Mahila Rojgar money is paid
What the numbers show
Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana pays a Rs 10,000 first instalment to one woman in each family to start a small enterprise. The scheme page of the Government of Bihar reports that 1,56,00,000 women were sent this money between 26 September and 28 November 2025, and 25,00,000 more on 16 February 2026. That is about 1.81 crore women. At Rs 10,000 each, the reported rounds add up to roughly Rs 18,100 crore.
How the rounds went
The first and largest round was on 26 September 2025, when the Prime Minister launched the scheme. The PMIndia release says Rs 7,500 crore went to 75 lakh women that day. Further rounds between then and 28 November 2025 took the total to 1.56 crore. The state does not publish an official list of each of those smaller rounds, so this page groups them as the state does. The 16 February 2026 round added 25 lakh women.
Sent is not the same as credited
The state page separates transfers sent from money actually credited. Of the 1.56 crore sent by 28 November 2025, 1,46,75,759 had reached Aadhaar-seeded accounts, which leaves about 9.24 lakh women not yet shown as credited at that point. An account not seeded with Aadhaar, or bank details that fail DBT checks, can hold up a credit.
What the figures do not tell you
These are counts of women paid the first instalment. They say nothing yet about how many enterprises started or survived, or how many women have passed the six-month assessment for further help of up to Rs 2 lakh. The state has not published district-wise figures on a .gov.in page, and it has not published official figures for second or later instalments. The rupee totals here are women multiplied by Rs 10,000, not figures from an audited account.
