Repayment runs 60 months at about Rs 2,302 a month. Apply online at daadconline.gujarat.gov.in.
What is the Loan for Various Small Businesses scheme?
Loan for Various Small Businesses, listed by the corporation in Gujarati as "Vibhinna nana dhandha vyavsay"; is a direct-lending scheme of Dr Ambedkar Antyodaya Vikas Nigam (Scheduled Castes), a corporation of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat.
The Nigam states the purpose plainly: to meet the needs of small industry and trade for unemployed persons of Antyodaya families and to create self-employment. Antyodaya here means the poorest layer, the households that Gujarat's welfare architecture treats as the last mile. Dr Ambedkar Antyodaya Vikas Nigam is the corporation that lends to Scheduled Caste families in that layer, and this is its entry-level product.
Loan for Various Small Businesses is deliberately kept small and cheap. The maximum is Rs 1,25,000, the interest is 4 per cent, the state funds 100 per cent of the loan, and the borrower puts in nothing. That combination is unusual. Most self-employment schemes require the borrower to raise a margin, which is exactly the barrier that keeps the poorest applicants out. This scheme removes it.
The Nigam runs a family of schemes with different ticket sizes: Mahila Samruddhi for women up to Rs 50,000, self-employment loans of Rs 2,00,000 and Rs 5,00,000, an auto-rickshaw or three-wheeler loan up to Rs 3,00,000, a four-wheeler scheme up to Rs 15,00,000, a livestock financing scheme, a micro-credit scheme for self help groups, and the Mobile Food Court Van scheme up to Rs 6,00,000. The Various Small Businesses loan is the smallest and the simplest of them, and it is where most first-time borrowers begin.
How much money does the small business loan provide?
The Nigam's published scheme sheet sets out the full structure:
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Maximum loan | Rs 1,25,000 |
| Interest rate | 4 per cent per year |
| Repayment period | 60 months (5 years) |
| State government share | 100 per cent |
| Beneficiary contribution | Nil |
| Guarantors | Two |
| Indicative maximum instalment | About Rs 2,302 per month |
At the full Rs 1,25,000 the instalment works out at about Rs 2,302 a month for 60 months. A borrower who takes less than the maximum pays proportionately less. There is no moratorium published in the scheme sheet, so plan on the instalment starting soon after disbursement.
Compare that with the interest a small trader would otherwise pay. A private moneylender in a Gujarat district town commonly charges several times 4 per cent a year, and often demands the principal back on a schedule no small shop can meet. The 4 per cent rate, combined with a 5-year term and no margin requirement, is the real benefit of this scheme rather than the headline amount.
Who is eligible for the small business loan?
You qualify if:
- You are an original resident of Gujarat belonging to a Scheduled Caste.
- You are 18 years of age or above.
- You are unemployed and want to start or run a small business yourself.
- Your family annual income is within the Nigam's notified ceiling. The Nigam's own loan portal states a family income limit of Rs 3.00 lakh a year across its direct-lending schemes.
- You can produce two guarantors who satisfy the corporation.
- You have no outstanding loan with the corporation.
You are not eligible and cannot apply if:
- You do not hold a Scheduled Caste certificate issued in Gujarat. Other categories are served by other corporations — Gujarat Backward Class Development Corporation, Gujarat Thakor and Koli Development Corporation, Gujarat Minority Finance and Development Corporation, Gujarat Cowherd Development Corporation and the Gujarat Nomadic and Denotified Tribe Development Corporation.
- You are a sanitation worker or the dependant of one. The Nigam's eligibility note excludes this group because the Gujarat Sanitation Worker Development Corporation serves them separately.
- You are in government or semi-government service.
- You have an unrepaid loan from this corporation.
- Your family income is above the notified ceiling.
- You are below 18.
What documents are required?
| Document | Mandatory | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduled Caste certificate | Yes | From a Gujarat competent revenue authority |
| Income certificate | Yes | Within the Nigam's family income ceiling |
| Age proof | Yes | Establishing 18 years or above |
| Gujarat domicile proof | Yes | Original resident of the state |
| Aadhaar card | Yes | Identification and account seeding |
| Bank passbook | Yes | For disbursement and instalment recovery |
| Two guarantors' papers | Yes | Identity, income and solvency for each |
| Business plan or quotation | Yes | Fixes the loan amount against real costs |
| Trade licence | No | Only where the trade requires one |
The guarantor papers are where most applications stall. Arrange both guarantors before you start the online form rather than after, because an incomplete file simply waits.

- Collect the scheme form; the Nigam also publishes the scheme sheet as a PDF on sje.gujarat.gov.in under its schemes page.
- Submit the filled form with self-attested document copies and the guarantors' papers, and take a stamped acknowledgement.
The Nigam's own instruction is to apply online through daadconline.gujarat.gov.in for its direct financing schemes, so treat the district office as the verification and support point rather than the primary filing route.
How do you check your application status?
- Log in to daadconline.gujarat.gov.in and open the application status screen using the credentials created at registration.
- Contact the Nigam's district office with your application number if the portal shows the file pending at district level.
- Call +91 79 2325 6325, the Nigam's head office number in Gandhinagar, if there is no movement.
- Check your bank account after sanction for the disbursement credit.
Why do small business loan applications get rejected?
- Income certificate above the ceiling. Scrutiny starts here.
- Guarantor papers incomplete or guarantors not acceptable to the corporation. The single most common practical failure.
- An existing unpaid loan with the same Nigam.
- Government or semi-government employment of the applicant.
- No credible quotation or business plan, so the Nigam cannot fix an amount.
- Wrong corporation. A Backward Class, Minority or Nomadic Tribe applicant who files here will be rejected and must approach their own corporation.
- Filed after the closing date to 14 August 2026 for the 2026-27 cycle.
Each defect is fixable. Correct the document, replace the guarantor, obtain a proper quotation, and file again in the next annual window.
What happens after sanction?
Dr Ambedkar Antyodaya Vikas Nigam disburses the sanctioned amount to your registered bank account, and repayment begins on the agreed schedule of up to 60 instalments at about Rs 2,302 a month for a full Rs 1,25,000 loan. Interest runs at 4 per cent.
Keep every instalment on time. Default is recovered from the two guarantors, which is why the corporation insists on them, and a clean repayment record is what makes a borrower eligible for the Nigam's larger schemes later, the Rs 2,00,000 and Rs 5,00,000 self-employment loans, or the Rs 6,00,000 Mobile Food Court Van scheme.
Where do you get help or complain?
- Dr Ambedkar Antyodaya Vikas Nigam (SC), Gandhinagar: +91 79 2325 6325, Block No. 2, D-2 Wing, Fourth Floor, Karmayogi Bhavan, Sector 10-B, Gandhinagar.
- The Nigam's district office for application, verification and disbursement problems.
- Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat, at sje.gujarat.gov.in, for a written grievance.
Applying costs nothing. No agent may charge you to file on daadconline.gujarat.gov.in, and no official will ask for money to sanction a loan.

Frequently asked questions
How much is the small business loan from Dr Ambedkar Antyodaya Vikas Nigam?
Up to Rs 1,25,000. The Nigam's scheme sheet for Various Small Businesses records a maximum loan of Rs 1,25,000 funded 100 per cent by the state government, with no beneficiary contribution required.
What is the interest rate and repayment period?
Interest is 4 per cent a year and the repayment period is 60 months, that is 5 years. The Nigam's indicative maximum instalment is about Rs 2,302 a month.
Do you have to put in your own money?
No. The state government share is 100 per cent and the beneficiary contribution is nil, which distinguishes this scheme from the Nigam's larger loans such as the Mobile Food Court Van, where the borrower must bring 5 per cent.
How many guarantors are needed?
Two guarantors. This is a fixed condition of the scheme and files do not move to sanction without complete papers for both.
Who is not eligible for this small business loan?
People who are not Scheduled Caste, who are under 18, who hold government or semi-government jobs, or who have an unpaid loan outstanding with the same corporation cannot apply. Sanitation workers and their dependants are served by the separate Gujarat Sanitation Worker Development Corporation.
What kinds of business can be financed?
The scheme is framed broadly as meeting the needs of small industry or trade for unemployed persons of Antyodaya families, so a wide range of small trades qualifies — a shop, a tailoring or repair unit, a small manufacturing or service activity. Submit a quotation or business plan so the Nigam can fix the amount.
When is the last date to apply?
For the 2026-27 cycle the Nigam notified 14 August 2026 at 24:00 hours as the closing time for online applications. The window opens annually, so a missed cycle means waiting for the next one.
Where do you apply?
Online at daadconline.gujarat.gov.in, the direct-lending portal of Dr Ambedkar Antyodaya Vikas Nigam. Original documents are then verified at the Nigam's district office.
