Apply online at gndcdconline.gujarat.gov.in.
What is Mahila Samriddhi Yojana under GNTDNT?
Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is a women-only microcredit scheme of the Gujarat Nomadic and Denotified Tribes Development Corporation (GNTDNT), which works under the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Gujarat. The Gujarati name of the scheme on the corporation's own pages is Mahila Samruddhi Yojana, listed in English on the site as the Women Prosperity Scheme.
The corporation exists to finance self-employment for Gujarat's nomadic and denotified communities, the state recognises 28 nomadic tribes and 12 denotified tribes. These families historically had no land, no fixed address and almost no access to bank credit, which is the gap the corporation's loan schemes are built to close.
According to the Gujarat Nomadic and Denotified Tribes Development Corporation, Mahila Samriddhi Yojana provides microcredit to women of these communities to start a self-employment business of their own choosing. The distinctive feature is the funding pattern: 95 percent from the national corporation and 5 percent from the Gujarat state government, with a zero beneficiary contribution. The corporation describes this as a 100 percent loan for the business or trade amount, meaning the woman does not have to bring her own capital to the table.
Key features
- Maximum loan of Rs 1,25,000.
- Interest at 4 percent per annum, well below any commercial rate.
- Zero beneficiary contribution; no own-money requirement.
- Repayment in 48 equal monthly instalments including interest.
- Priority within the district allocation for families earning up to Rs 1.5 lakh a year, who are assured at least 50 percent of the loan amount.
- Applied for online at gndcdconline.gujarat.gov.in.
How much is the loan and what does it cost?
| Item | Mahila Samriddhi Yojana | Corporation's term loan, for comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum loan | Rs 1,25,000 | Rs 2,00,000 |
| Interest rate | 4 percent per annum | 6 percent per annum |
| National corporation share | 95 percent | 85 percent |
| State government share | 5 percent | 10 percent |
| Beneficiary contribution | Nil | 5 percent |
| Repayment | 48 equal monthly instalments | 60 equal monthly instalments |
| Who can apply | Women only | Men and women |
A woman comparing the two options should note that Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is the cheaper money and needs no own contribution, but it is capped lower. If the business genuinely needs more than Rs 1,25,000, the term loan route at 6 percent is the corporation's alternative, at the cost of a 5 percent own share and a longer 60-month repayment.
Repayment arithmetic matters here. A full Rs 1,25,000 loan repaid over 48 months means a monthly outgo of roughly Rs 2,600 to Rs 2,800 including interest. Borrow only what the business can service from its own earnings within four years, the corporation's district managers see more distress from over-borrowing than from under-borrowing.
Who is eligible for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana?
You can apply if:
- You are a woman. The scheme is women-only, without exception.
- You belong to a nomadic or denotified community of Gujarat, certified by the competent revenue authority.
- You are at least 21 years old and not more than 50 years old on the date of application.
- Your family's annual income is within Rs 3 lakh, the ceiling the corporation has applied since 1 April 2018.
- You can offer a guarantor or acceptable security for the loan.
- Where your proposed trade is a skilled or technical occupation, you have the relevant experience or training.
You cannot apply, or are not eligible, if:
- You are a man. Male applicants from the same communities are directed to the corporation's term loan, micro finance or New Swarnima schemes instead.
- You do not hold a nomadic or denotified community certificate of Gujarat. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and SEBC women are served by different corporations of the same department.
- You are under 21 or over 50 on the date of application.
- Your family income exceeds Rs 3 lakh a year.
- You cannot arrange a guarantor or security.
- You are an existing defaulter on a loan from this or another state corporation.
Income within the ceiling is not just a pass or fail test. The corporation gives families earning up to Rs 1.5 lakh a year a preferential claim, with at least 50 percent of the loan amount reserved for them, so a lower-income applicant is better placed in a district where demand exceeds the year's target.

- Register as a new applicant with your mobile number and verify the OTP, then log in and set your profile with your name exactly as on Aadhaar.
- Select Mahila Samriddhi Yojana from the list of schemes. Do not select the term loan or micro finance scheme by mistake — the interest rate, ceiling and contribution rules are different and the application cannot be re-tagged after submission.
- Fill in the application with your personal details, caste, age, family income, district, the trade or business you propose, and the loan amount you need up to Rs 1,25,000.
- Enter your bank account details, account number, IFSC and branch. The loan is disbursed to this account and instalments are collected from it.
- Upload the documents, including the caste certificate, income certificate, age proof, Aadhaar, bank passbook, residence proof, business plan and guarantor papers.
- Submit the application and save the application number.
- Follow up with the district manager of the corporation in your district, who verifies the file, may call you for an interview about the proposed business, and forwards the case for sanction.
How to apply offline or with help
- Visit the district office of the Gujarat Nomadic and Denotified Tribes Development Corporation. The corporation has district managers, who are social welfare officers, in 32 district offices across Gujarat, and the contact list with phone numbers is published on the corporation's pages on sje.gujarat.gov.in.
- Ask the district manager for guidance on the documents and the business plan before filing, since the plan is what the sanction turns on.
- Use a Common Service Centre to file the online application if you do not have internet access, and carry the printed acknowledgement to the district office with your documents.
How to check your application and disbursement status
- Log in to gndcdconline.gujarat.gov.in with your registered mobile number and open the application status page.
- Read the stage: pending at district, recommended for sanction, sanctioned, or disbursed.
- Contact the district manager of the corporation for anything showing pending at district level for an extended period; district-level verification is where most files sit.
- For a sanctioned case, check the bank account for the credit. Disbursement is to the applicant's own account, not to a supplier or agent.
- For unresolved matters, contact the corporation's head office in Gandhinagar on 079-23258775 or email md-ntdnt-gnr@gujarat.gov.in.
Why applications get rejected
- Caste certificate does not name a nomadic or denotified community of Gujarat, or is issued by an authority the corporation does not accept.
- Age outside the 21 to 50 band on the date of application.
- Family income above Rs 3 lakh, or an income certificate that has expired.
- No guarantor or no acceptable security, which is a hard requirement and the most common single reason a district file stops.
- Weak or absent business plan, an application that does not say what the money will buy and how it will earn is usually returned rather than sanctioned.
- Existing default by the applicant or the offered guarantor.
- Wrong scheme selected on the portal.
- Annual target exhausted in the district, which defers rather than rejects the application to the next financial year.
Key dates
The corporation does not publish a fixed last date for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana. Applications are accepted through the year, but sanctions are made against an annual target set for each district in the financial year running from April to March. Applying early in the financial year is materially better than applying in February, because a district that has committed its target will carry the file forward rather than sanction it.
Help and grievance redressal
- Gujarat Nomadic and Denotified Tribes Development Corporation, Block 19, 2nd floor, Dr Jivraj Mehta Bhavan, Gandhinagar. Phone 079-23258775, email md-ntdnt-gnr@gujarat.gov.in.
- District manager (social welfare officer) of the corporation in your district. The first point of contact for any specific application.
- Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Block 5, 8th floor, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar, for a written grievance.
There is no fee for applying. No agent can charge to get a loan sanctioned, and the corporation disburses only to the applicant's own bank account, so any demand to route the money through a third party should be reported to the district manager.

Frequently asked questions
How much loan does Mahila Samriddhi Yojana give under GNTDNT?
The maximum loan is Rs 1,25,000, funded 95 percent by the national corporation and 5 percent by the Gujarat state government, with zero contribution from the beneficiary. The corporation describes it as a 100 percent loan for the business or trade amount.
What is the interest rate?
Interest is charged at 4 percent per annum. Repayment is in 48 equal monthly instalments including interest, which is why the scheme is treated as microcredit rather than a commercial business loan.
Who is eligible for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana in Gujarat?
Only women from a nomadic or denotified community of Gujarat, aged 21 to 50 on the date of application, with family annual income up to Rs 3 lakh. Where the trade is skilled or technical, prior experience is expected, and a guarantor or security is required in all cases.
Who cannot apply for this scheme?
Men are not eligible at all, since the scheme is for women only. Women who do not hold a nomadic or denotified community certificate of Gujarat, women below 21 or above 50, and families with annual income above Rs 3 lakh are also not eligible.
How do I apply for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana under GNTDNT?
Apply online at gndcdconline.gujarat.gov.in, the loan portal of the Gujarat Nomadic and Denotified Tribes Development Corporation, and then submit the supporting documents to the district manager of the corporation in your district.
Do I have to put in any money of my own?
No. The corporation states the beneficiary contribution is zero for Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, with 95 percent of the funding coming from the national corporation and 5 percent from the Gujarat government. This is what distinguishes it from the corporation's term loan, which carries a 5 percent beneficiary share.
How is this different from the corporation's term loan?
The term loan of the same corporation goes up to Rs 2,00,000 at 6 percent interest with a 5 percent beneficiary contribution and 60 monthly instalments, and is open to both men and women. Mahila Samriddhi Yojana is women-only, capped at Rs 1,25,000, at 4 percent, with no beneficiary contribution and 48 instalments.
What happens if I stop repaying?
Default is recovered through the guarantor and the security offered, and it blocks further loans from the corporation for the borrower and the guarantor. Approach the district manager before an instalment is missed rather than after, since the corporation deals with genuine business difficulty at the district level.
