PM-KUSUM: How to Check Application and Payment Status
This is a supporting guide for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM). See the main guide for full eligibility, benefits and documents.
How do I check my PM-KUSUM application status?
Check your PM-KUSUM status on your state nodal agency portal, not the national site. The national portal pmkusum.mnre.gov.in carries scheme information and the agency directory, while your application, vendor allotment and subsidy tracking all live in your state agency's login. This article is the status-checking companion to the main Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) guide, which covers eligibility and the 30% central subsidy (50% in North Eastern, hilly and island states).
Where does PM-KUSUM status actually live?
PM-KUSUM is delivered by state nodal agencies, GEDA in Gujarat, RRECL in Rajasthan, UPNEDA in Uttar Pradesh, and equivalent bodies elsewhere. Each runs its own application portal, and that is where your status sits. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy states that the national portal links to these agencies rather than processing applications itself.
So there is no single "check PM-KUSUM status" button that works for every farmer. The route always starts by identifying your state agency.
Step-by-step: finding your state portal
- Open the national portal pmkusum.mnre.gov.in.
- Go to the State Nodal Agencies section.
- Select your state and open the link to its nodal agency portal.
- Log in with the mobile number and registration ID you used when applying, and verify the OTP.
- Open the application or "Track Status" area of your dashboard.
Keep the application reference or registration number the state portal issued at submission: most state dashboards ask for it directly.
What the status stages mean
State portals label stages differently, but the sequence is broadly the same:
- Submitted / Under scrutiny. The agency is verifying your land record, water source and documents.
- Provisionally selected / Approved, you have cleared verification and are in the sanctioned batch. This is the trigger to pay your farmer share, and it is time-bound: PM-KUSUM allotments lapse if the farmer share is not paid within the state's deadline.
- Vendor allotted. An empanelled vendor has been assigned to install your solar pump or plant.
- Under installation / Commissioned, the system is being installed, then verified.
- Subsidy released — the central and state subsidy has been paid to the vendor after commissioning. Under PM-KUSUM the subsidy goes to the vendor, not into the farmer's account, so "subsidy released" confirms the scheme paid its share, not that you received a transfer.
Checking the beneficiary list
To confirm your name is in the sanctioned list, MNRE publishes beneficiary information in the Public Information / Scheme Beneficiary List section of pmkusum.mnre.gov.in. This is a confirmation view; the working status detail remains on the state portal.
What to do at each status
- Stuck at "Under scrutiny" for weeks, contact your state nodal agency helpdesk with your reference number. A common hold-up is a land record in a different name or a missing water-source proof.
- "Provisionally selected", pay the farmer share promptly; a lapsed deadline cancels the allotment and you re-enter the queue.
- "Vendor allotted" but no site visit; installation delays are a vendor issue; escalate through the state agency, which manages vendor empanelment.
- "Commissioned" but pump underperforming: raise it with the vendor under warranty and copy the state agency helpdesk.
Frequently asked questions
Can I check PM-KUSUM status without a login? The beneficiary list on the national portal is public, but detailed application status requires logging in to your state agency portal.
Does the subsidy come to my bank account? No. PM-KUSUM subsidy is released to the empanelled vendor after commissioning. Your bank account matters for any refund of the farmer share, not for receiving the subsidy.
Who do I call? The PM-KUSUM toll-free helpline is 1800-180-3333. For live application status, the state nodal agency helpdesk is faster because it holds your file.
Applying and tracking are free. No official will ask for an OTP or a "status update fee". The Government of India runs only pmkusum.mnre.gov.in and the state portals linked from it.
