What is the Mukhya Mantri Agricultural Mechanization Scheme?

Mukhya Mantri Agricultural Mechanization Scheme is a Gujarat state scheme run by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Co-operation Department. The scheme gives farmers a capital subsidy on the purchase of modern farm implements and machinery so that ploughing, sowing, spraying, harvesting and threshing can be completed on time and at lower cost.

According to the scheme description published on the national myScheme portal, the assistance ranges from Rs 1,200 to Rs 11,00,000 for a single beneficiary, depending on which implement is bought. That very wide band exists because the scheme is not a single grant, it is an umbrella under which dozens of separate machinery components are funded. A backpack sprayer draws a few thousand rupees, while a tractor-mounted harvester or a full custom hiring package draws lakhs.

What the scheme is trying to fix

• Gujarat's farm labour cost rises sharply during the narrow sowing and harvesting windows of kharif and rabi.
• Small and marginal farmers cannot afford a tractor or a harvester outright, and hire charges eat into the margin on every acre.
• Delayed operations, especially delayed sowing after the first monsoon rain, directly reduce yield.

Who is eligible for the Mukhya Mantri Agricultural Mechanization Scheme?

You can apply if:

• You are a farmer and a resident of Gujarat. The scheme is open regardless of caste, income or social status.
• Agricultural land stands in your name in the village form 7/12 and 8-A records, or you are a recorded co-owner with the consent of the other holders.
• You have an Aadhaar number and a bank account in your own name that can receive Direct Benefit Transfer.
• You have registered on the i-Khedut portal and hold an i-Khedut applicant ID.
• You are applying during an open window for the specific machinery component you want.

You cannot apply, or will not be eligible, if:

• You do not hold land in Gujarat in your own name and cannot produce a 7/12 record. Pure agricultural labourers with no recorded holding are not eligible for the individual machinery components.
• You are a resident of another state, even if you farm land in Gujarat.
• You have already purchased the machine before the sanction order was issued. A post-facto purchase is not eligible.
• Another member of your family has already drawn assistance for the same implement against the same survey number, or you are still inside the cooling period after an earlier high-value sanction.
• Your bank account is not seeded with Aadhaar, in which case the DBT will fail even after approval.

There is no upper income limit and no age bar published for this scheme. What decides the outcome is the land record, the open window and the availability of budget in the district for that component.

How much benefit does the scheme provide?

Mukhya Mantri Agricultural Mechanization Scheme provides assistance of Rs 1,200 at the lowest and Rs 11,00,000 at the highest, fixed component by component. Each component in the i-Khedut list carries three numbers you should read before applying:

The subsidy is always the lower of the percentage and the ceiling. If a component says 50 per cent up to Rs 45,000 and your invoice is Rs 1,20,000, you receive Rs 45,000, not Rs 60,000.

Payment is made once, after purchase and physical verification, straight into the applicant's bank account. Gujarat does not route this money through the dealer, so a dealer who offers to "adjust the subsidy in the price" is not following the scheme.

How to apply for the Mukhya Mantri Agricultural Mechanization Scheme

1. Open the i-Khedut portal at ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in and register as an applicant if you have not already, keeping your Aadhaar number and mobile phone with you for verification.
2. On the home page click Schemes, then Agricultural Schemes (Khetivadi), and find the mechanization scheme in the list.
3. Select the exact implement you want, click Apply, and the application page will open.
4. Click Apply New and fill in your personal details, survey number, land area, bank details and the machinery specification you intend to buy.
5. Click Update Application if you need to correct anything, then Confirm the application. An unconfirmed application is not forwarded to the Taluka office.
6. Take a printout of the confirmed application, sign it, attach the 7/12, Aadhaar copy, bank passbook copy and caste certificate if applicable, and submit or upload the set as instructed for that component.
7. Wait for the pre-approval order (purvamanjuri) from the Taluka Agriculture Officer before you buy anything.
8. Buy the machine from an approved dealer within the validity of the sanction, then upload the invoice and serial number and request physical verification.

How to apply offline or with help

1. Visit your Gram Panchayat VCE centre, a common service centre, or the Taluka Agriculture Office with your Aadhaar card, 7/12 record and bank passbook.
2. Ask the operator to file the i-Khedut application on your behalf, since the portal itself accepts only online submissions.
3. Collect the printed confirmed application and the acknowledgement showing your application number.
4. Hand the signed hard copy with attachments to the Taluka Agriculture Office and keep the receiving stamp.

How to check your application status

1. Go to ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in and open the Applicant Corner.
2. Choose Check application status.
3. Enter your application number and your registered mobile number, then submit.
4. The same corner also lets you view, reprint and upload documents against an application already filed.

Statuses move through submitted, confirmed, pending at taluka, pre-approved, purchase verified and payment released. If the status has not moved for several weeks after the window closes, the usual reason is that district budget for that component is exhausted and applications are queued for the next release.

Why applications get rejected

• Machine bought before sanction. The single most common cause. The bill date must fall after the pre-approval order date.
• Land record mismatch. The 7/12 name and the Aadhaar or bank account name do not match, often because of a spelling variant or an unmutated inheritance.
• Application not confirmed. Farmers fill the form, close the browser and never press confirm, so the application never reaches the taluka.
• Duplicate claim by another family member on the same survey number.
• Failed DBT because the bank account is not Aadhaar-seeded or is dormant.
• Component budget exhausted in the district, which is a deferral rather than a defect in the application.

Most of these are fixable. A name mismatch is corrected by updating the bank record or the land record and re-uploading; a lapsed window means reapplying when the component reopens.

Key dates and the application window

Mukhya Mantri Agricultural Mechanization Scheme does not run all year. The Agriculture Department opens component-wise windows on i-Khedut, typically after the annual budget allocation, and each window stays open for a limited number of days. Farmers should watch the News and circulars section of ikhedut.gujarat.gov.in rather than rely on word of mouth, because a window can open and close inside a fortnight and there is no reopening for late applicants.
