Jan Shikshan Sansthan suits you if you cannot travel to a distant training centre, have limited or no formal schooling, and want a low-commitment course close to home. PMKVY (Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) suits you if you want a nationally recognised short-term certification in a specific job role, are comfortable attending a training centre, and want assessment and certification as the visible output. PMKVY is broader in scale and reach than JSS but less doorstep-oriented.
