What is the SEBI ITD Internship Program?
The SEBI ITD Internship Program is an internship run by the Information Technology Department (ITD) of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the market regulator that functions under the Ministry of Finance. According to SEBI's guidelines, the program provides hands-on training to students of institutes based in and around Mumbai and accepts up to 15 interns.
Interns work on Information Technology (IT) projects, including Data Analytics (DA), regulatory business processes and reporting, and FinTech. The projects let interns apply their IT and data-analytics skills while gaining exposure to the functioning of the Indian capital markets, a combination that is uncommon in a standard campus internship.

- Ask your institute to express interest in the SEBI ITD Internship Program using the prescribed format (Annexure-1), along with the relevant enclosures.

- Await selection by SEBI's IT Department; selected candidates are informed through their institute.
Because the original public notice carried a 2019–20 timeline, prospective applicants should check SEBI's Careers section for the current year's notice and deadline before submitting.
Points applicants most often get wrong
- You cannot apply directly, the institute nominates you.
- The internship is a year-long commitment, not a short summer stint.
- The stipend depends on days per week (Rs 25,000 for three days, Rs 30,000 for four).
- The core requirement is IT and data-analytics aptitude, not finance knowledge.
