Dr. S.K. Mukherjee Scholarship for B.Sc. Agriculture Students (2nd & 3rd Year)
Uttarakhand state government scheme
Dr. S.K. Mukherjee Scholarship pays Rs 1,100 per month for one year to meritorious B.Sc. Agriculture students in the 2nd and 3rd year at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. Students apply offline on the prescribed form, and a committee constituted by the Vice-Chancellor selects the awardees.
What is the Dr. S.K. Mukherjee Scholarship?
The Dr. S.K. Mukherjee Scholarship is a merit scholarship for B.Sc. Agriculture students in the 2nd and 3rd year at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUA&T), Pantnagar. The scheme is listed under the Department of Agriculture, Government of Uttarakhand, with the university as the implementing body.
The scholarship provides Rs 1,100 per month for one year. Its stated purpose is to give financial support to meritorious students pursuing a B.Sc. Agriculture course in their middle years of study. The point at which the practical, field and project components of the degree begin to cost money and before final-year awards become available.
GBPUA&T, Pantnagar is India's first agricultural university, established in 1954 on the American land-grant pattern, and holds an ICAR accreditation with an 'A' grade. The Dr. S.K. Mukherjee Scholarship sits alongside a long list of named memorial awards and merit scholarships the university administers through its College of Agriculture.
How much does the scholarship pay?
The rate is Rs 1,100 per month. Over the one-year award period that comes to Rs 13,200. Payment goes to the selected student through the university's normal disbursement procedure, after the Vice-Chancellor approves the selection committee's recommendation.
Two limits matter. First, the award is for one year only. It is not a standing scholarship that runs from the 2nd year through to graduation. A student who receives it in the 2nd year and wants it in the 3rd year must apply again when the next session's notice appears, and must compete afresh on merit. Second, the amount is fixed; there is no additional book grant, hostel component or contingency allowance attached to it.

- You are enrolled in the B.Sc. Agriculture programme.
- You are in the 2nd year or the 3rd year of that programme.

- Watch the Student Corner notices at gbpuat.ac.in. The university publishes scholarship selection lists there.
- Call the Student Corner numbers, 05944-233349, 233350, 233325, 233320 or 233331, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, quoting your enrolment number.
Why applications get rejected
- Wrong year of study. First-year students applying in their first semester, and fourth-year students applying out of habit, make up the largest share of rejections. The scholarship covers the 2nd and 3rd year only.
- Wrong course. Students of other GBPUA&T programmes apply because the scholarship is well known on campus. It is restricted to B.Sc. Agriculture.
- Incomplete academic record. Without marksheets or an OGPA statement for all completed semesters, the application cannot be ranked and is set aside.
- Missing the notice window. The announcement is made only during the session; there is no rolling intake.
- Plain-paper application. Only the prescribed form is accepted.
- Bank account in a different name, or an account that is dormant, delays the monthly credit even after selection is approved.
Help and grievance redressal
- Office of the Dean, College of Agriculture, GBPUA&T, Pantnagar; first point of contact for the application file
- Student Corner helpline: 05944-233349, 233350, 233325, 233320, 233331, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm
