Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme: How to Check Application and Payment Status

This is a supporting guide for Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme. See the main guide for full eligibility, benefits and documents.

Where to check your DLI application status

Track a Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme application by logging in to the same account you used to apply at chips-dli.gov.in, the C-DAC-operated portal for the scheme. The portal handles registration, application, evaluation and reimbursement in one place, so your dashboard is where progress appears after you submit. Incentive money is released by C-DAC on a reimbursement basis after milestone verification, not upfront, so "status" means two different things: the status of your application, and the status of a claim against an approved milestone. For eligibility, benefit ceilings and the application walkthrough, see the Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme pillar.

The stages your application moves through

The DLI Scheme is an evaluated industry incentive, not an automatic entitlement, so an application passes through human review stages rather than fixed numeric status codes. Based on the process C-DAC describes, expect these stages in order:

  1. Registered / draft. The applicant entity is registered with its CIN, PAN and authorised signatory, but the application is not yet submitted.
  2. Submitted, the online form, Detailed Project Report (DPR), incorporation certificate, audited accounts, shareholding proof and the Rs 10,000 registration fee receipt are in. C-DAC screens for completeness.
  3. Under evaluation: shortlisted applicants are called to present their proposal before the evaluation committee constituted by MeitY.
  4. Approved / agreement stage: on approval you sign an agreement with C-DAC and can begin drawing design infrastructure support through the India Chip Centre.
  5. Not selected — the committee did not approve the proposal in that round.

The chips-dli.gov.in portal itself does not publish a public list of fixed status codes. Do not rely on any third-party site claiming a "status code" the official portal does not show: if your dashboard label is unclear, confirm it with C-DAC before acting.

Checking whether a round is open

The DLI Scheme runs in application rounds, and the portal shows whether a round is currently open or closed between windows. If you cannot start a new application, the likely reason is that the current round is closed, not that anything is wrong with your account. Check the portal's announcements or the application page before assuming a technical fault.

How to check reimbursement (payment) status

Because payments are milestone-based reimbursements, your payment status is tied to milestone verification, not to a single "amount credited" figure:

  1. Product Design Linked Incentive (PDLI) claims are made against verified expenditure at each milestone. C-DAC verifies the milestone, then processes reimbursement of up to 50% of eligible expenditure within the per-application ceiling.
  2. Deployment Linked Incentive claims are made later against audited net sales once the design ships in a product, over a five-year window.

To see where a specific claim stands, log in and open the relevant milestone or claim record. If the claim shows as verified but not yet paid, that is a treasury/disbursement step handled by C-DAC.

What to do when the status does not move

  • Stuck at "submitted" between rounds, evaluation happens in batches; a delay through a closed window is normal.
  • Screening query raised; C-DAC may ask for a missing document (audited accounts, fee receipt or shareholding proof are the common gaps). Respond promptly through the portal.
  • No dashboard visibility at all; confirm you are logged in with the applicant entity's account, not a personal one, since only registered entities apply.

Who to contact about status

Use only the official C-DAC channels published for the scheme:

When you write in, quote your registered entity name, application/registration ID and the round you applied in. No agent can accelerate or guarantee an approval, all decisions rest with the evaluation committee constituted by MeitY, and the only government fee is the Rs 10,000 registration fee.

FAQ

Can an individual track a DLI status? No. Only a registered company, DPIIT startup or MSME applies and therefore has a status to track; there is no individual application route.

Is there an SMS status service? The official portal does not advertise one. Rely on your chips-dli.gov.in login and the C-DAC contacts above.

Does a closed round mean I was rejected? No. A closed round means new submissions are paused; it says nothing about a pending application's outcome.
