What is FutureSkills Prime?

FutureSkills Prime is India's technology skilling hub, run as a collaborative initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASSCOM). According to the Digital India portal, the initiative aims to transform India into a Digital Talent Nation by giving students and working professionals contemporary knowledge in emerging technology domains.

Who is eligible for FutureSkills Prime?

You can apply if:

• You are an Indian learner able to register on futureskillsprime.in with a valid mobile number and email ID.
• You are a student, fresh hire, intern or apprentice looking for a career in emerging technologies.
• You are a working professional in an IT or non-IT firm wanting to re-skill.
• You are a central or state government employee, a PSU official or an employee of an autonomous body.
• For the incentive specifically, you have paid for an eligible course yourself and cleared the associated assessment.

You are not eligible for the incentive if:

• You only registered and browsed the platform but did not complete a paid eligible course and its assessment. Enrolment alone earns nothing.
• Your course fee was paid by an employer or a third party rather than by you. The incentive reimburses the learner's own spend.
• You have already drawn the full Rs 12,000 ceiling; further claims are not payable beyond it.
• You did not clear the assessment. For a NOS-aligned deep-skilling course, a candidate must score at least 50% on each individual module and 50% overall.
• Your identity or bank details cannot be verified at the payout stage.

What documents are required for FutureSkills Prime?

How to apply for FutureSkills Prime and claim the incentive

1. Go to futureskillsprime.in or install the FutureSkills Prime app from the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store.
2. Register free with your name, mobile number and email ID, and verify the OTP sent to your mobile.
3. Take the Competency Diagnostic Test on the platform to assess your current technical aptitude and get a recommended learning pathway.
4. Choose a course from the catalogue of 2,800-plus courses across the 12 digital technologies and 10 professional skill areas, and check on the course page whether it is eligible for the government incentive.
5. Pay the course fee yourself and keep the payment receipt. The incentive reimburses the learner's own spend, so an employer-paid enrolment will not qualify.
6. Complete the course and book and clear the assessment. For a NOS-aligned deep-skilling course you must score at least 50% on each module and 50% overall.
7. Collect the NASSCOM certification issued on clearing the assessment.
8. Open the Government of India Incentives section on your dashboard, submit the incentive claim with your identity proof, bank account details, fee receipt and certificate.
9. Track the claim on the dashboard. The incentive is credited to the bank account you submitted, subject to the Rs 12,000 per-learner ceiling.

How much benefit does FutureSkills Prime provide?

The core offering is government incentives worth up to Rs 12,000 for each eligible learner. According to the FutureSkills Prime incentives page, the incentive is provided on deep-skilling paid course fees, global OEM certifications, industry internships and assessment fee reimbursement. A learner may claim incentives more than once, but the total incentive that can be availed is capped at Rs 12,000.

Who has FutureSkills Prime reached so far?

According to the MeitY press release published on digitalindia.gov.in, more than 15.78 lakh candidates have benefitted from FutureSkills Prime courses. Roughly 41% of these learners are women and about 85% come from tier-2 and tier-3 cities, which makes the programme one of the few central technology skilling efforts with a clearly non-metro learner base. The platform reports over 33 lakh registered users and 2,800-plus courses and pathways. An earlier MeitY release recorded more than 18.56 lakh candidates signed up for re-skilling and up-skilling of IT manpower on the platform.
