National Fund for Persons with Disabilities: How to Check Application and Payment Status

National Fund for Persons with Disabilities: How to Check Application and Payment Status

To check a National Fund for Persons with Disabilities application, log back into the National Fund portal at nationalfund.depwd.gov.in with the same credentials you registered with, and open your application to see its stage. Because the fund is run entirely online by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), the portal is the single place where your application lives: there is no offline route and no separate payment app. Individual assistance is released by Direct Benefit Transfer, so "payment status" means a DBT credit to your Aadhaar-seeded bank account, not a cheque or camp.

Where to check National Fund status

The only official place is the National Fund portal (nationalfund.depwd.gov.in). Before logging in, keep ready:

  • The login credentials (registered email/mobile and password) you created at registration.
  • The acknowledgement or reference number shown on screen when you submitted the application.
  • Whether you applied under "Apply as an Individual" or "Apply as an Organization". The two tracks have separate dashboards.

There is no dedicated status helpline for this fund. DEPwD has not published a toll-free number for the National Fund, so treat any number claiming to be one with caution.

What the stages mean

Because the National Fund is a corpus fund and not an annual entitlement, an eligible application is not an automatic sanction; sanctions depend on the amount available in the corpus that year, and DEPwD publishes no fixed decision timeline. Broadly, an application moves through:

  1. Submitted / registered, your form and uploaded documents are lodged and a reference number is generated. This confirms receipt only.
  2. Under scrutiny: DEPwD examines the application against the published guidelines, the component ceiling and the income limit for your component (Rs 3 lakh family income for national events, Rs 6 lakh for international events).
  3. Placed before the governing body. The fund's governing body oversees sanctions, so a component sanction is a decision, not a formality.
  4. Sanctioned, the assistance is approved; for individuals it is then queued for DBT release.
  5. Disbursed, the amount is credited by DBT to your Aadhaar-seeded bank account. For exhibition grants to organisations, 50% is released in advance and 50% after the programme is completed and accounts are submitted.

Checking status step by step

  1. Open nationalfund.depwd.gov.in and choose Login.
  2. Enter your registered credentials for the correct track (Individual or Organization).
  3. Open your submitted application to view its current stage and any query raised against it.
  4. Resolve any document query promptly — a missing income certificate or a bank account that is not Aadhaar-seeded is a common hold-up.
  5. For a disbursed individual claim, check your bank account for the DBT credit; the money reaches the account given in the application, not a wallet.

Why your status may not move

  • No fixed timeline. The fund is a corpus, so decisions track corpus availability, which DEPwD reports annually as amounts allocated, sanctioned, disbursed and utilised.
  • A pending query. The portal may be waiting on a corrected document from you.
  • Component queue: exhibition grants pass through advance-and-balance stages tied to your completion report.

Who to contact if it is stuck

  • National Fund portal, log any grievance against your application through your logged-in dashboard.
  • Joint Secretary and CEO, National Fund for Persons with Disabilities, Room 527, 5th Floor, Pt. Deendayal Antyodaya Bhawan, CGO Complex, New Delhi, the correspondence address DEPwD publishes for the fund.
  • DEPwD National Fund page (depwd.gov.in), for guidelines, notifications and the annual expenditure statement.

Quick FAQ

Is there a fee to check status? No. Application and status checking are entirely free, and no agent is authorised to charge for lodging or "processing" a National Fund application.

How is my assistance paid? Individual assistance is paid by Direct Benefit Transfer into your own Aadhaar-seeded bank account; there is no cash counter.

I lost my reference number; can I still check? Yes, log in with your registered credentials for the same track; the dashboard shows your application without the number.
