National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction funds free de-addiction, counselling and rehabilitation services through NGOs and government hospitals, meeting up to 90 per cent of approved expenditure. Its awareness arm, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, launched in 272 districts in 2020 and covers all districts since 2023. The national helpline is 14446.

The academic allowance ranges from Rs 4,000 to Rs 13,500 a year for hostellers and Rs 2,500 to Rs 7,000 for day scholars, paid by DBT.

There is no self-application; the District Magistrate identifies and rehabilitates each released bonded labourer.
