PM-KISAN: How to Check Application and Payment Status, and What Each Result Means
This is a supporting guide for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN). See the main guide for full eligibility, benefits and documents.
PM-KISAN: How to Check Application and Payment Status, and What Each Result Means
To check your PM-KISAN status, open the "Know Your Status" tool in the Farmers Corner on pmkisan.gov.in, enter your registration number and captcha, and read the eligibility and instalment rows. The screen shows whether your e-KYC, land seeding and Aadhaar-bank seeding are complete; any "No" there stops your payment. This article walks through status-checking for Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, the Ministry of Agriculture scheme paying Rs 6,000 a year in three instalments.
Step 1: Find your registration number
You need your registration number to check status.
- On pmkisan.gov.in, open Farmers Corner and select Know Your Registration Number.
- Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number or Aadhaar number, plus the captcha.
- Enter the OTP sent to your mobile. The portal displays your registration number; note it down.
Step 2: Check beneficiary status
- In Farmers Corner, open Know Your Status.
- Enter your registration number and captcha, then click Get Data.
- The status page loads your eligibility rows and a table of past instalments.
You can do the same in the PM-KISAN mobile app, which also supports face-authentication e-KYC.
Step 3: Read the eligibility rows correctly
The status screen shows several checks. All must read "Yes" for an instalment to release:
- e-KYC, Aadhaar-based verification. The single most common blocker when it shows "No".
- Land Seeding — your land record verified by the state revenue department. "Yes/No/In Progress" appears here.
- Aadhaar Bank Account Seeding (DBT); your Aadhaar linked to the bank account for Direct Benefit Transfer.
If any row is "No" or "In Progress", the instalment is held until it clears.
Step 4: Read the payment/instalment table
The instalment table lists each past release with a payment status. Common indications:
- Payment credited for a given instalment means it reached your account.
- A blank or "not generated" row for a recent instalment usually means an eligibility row above is incomplete, or the instalment for that cycle has not yet been released to your category.
- The 23rd instalment was released on 20 June 2026, per the PM-KISAN portal. The 24th had not been officially dated at the time of writing; media reports expected it around October 2026 (Business Today, July 2026), but treat only the portal's release as authoritative.
What to do next, by result
- e-KYC = No: complete e-KYC via OTP on the portal/app, face-authentication in the app, or biometric e-KYC at a Common Service Centre.
- Aadhaar Bank Seeding = No: visit your bank and ask them to seed your Aadhaar with the account through NPCI mapping (DBT-enabled), not merely link it.
- Land Seeding = No / In Progress: contact your state's nodal officer or district agriculture office to complete land-record verification.
- All Yes but no payment: wait for the instalment cycle for your category, or raise a query if others in your area have been paid.
How to check payment reaching your bank
Even with all rows "Yes", confirm the money at the bank end:
- Check your bank passbook or SMS alerts for a PM-KISAN DBT credit of Rs 2,000.
- If the portal shows "credited" but your bank shows nothing, the issue is usually an inactive or wrongly-seeded account: check with the branch.
Where to raise a status query
- PM-KISAN helpline: 155261 or 011-24300606
- Kisan e-Mitra chatbot on pmkisan.gov.in for common queries
- Helpdesk query form on the portal for written grievances
FAQ
Do I need to log in to check status? No. "Know Your Status" and "Know Your Registration Number" are public tools; you only need your registration number and an OTP.
Why does my status show eligible but no recent instalment? Instalments release in cycles; a pending row (e-KYC, seeding) or the cycle not yet reaching your category are the usual causes.
Can I check status on the app? Yes, the PM-KISAN mobile app mirrors the portal and adds face-authentication e-KYC.
