PMMVY: How to Check Application and Payment Status

This is a supporting guide for Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY). See the main guide for full eligibility, benefits and documents.

How do I check my PMMVY application and payment status?

Check your Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana status by logging in at pmmvy.wcd.gov.in with your registered mobile number and an OTP, then opening Track Application Status. The screen shows each instalment as pending, approved or paid. This is the status-checking companion to the main Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) guide, which explains the Rs 5,000 first-child benefit and the Rs 6,000 second-girl-child benefit.

Note the portal has moved to pmmvy.wcd.gov.in. The old pmmvy.nic.in address no longer works.

Step-by-step: checking status online

  1. Open pmmvy.wcd.gov.in.
  2. Select Track Application Status from the home page, or use the beneficiary login in the top-right corner.
  3. Enter your application reference number or your registered 10-digit mobile number.
  4. Verify with the OTP sent to that mobile number.
  5. Review the status screen. Each instalment is shown separately with its current stage.

If you applied through an Anganwadi or ASHA worker, use the mobile number given at registration; the worker submitted your form through the same portal, so your record is retrievable the same way.

What each PMMVY status means

  • Pending / Under approval, your form and conditionality (ANC or immunisation details) are being verified by the block or district office.
  • Approved. The instalment is cleared for payment and has been sent for DBT processing.
  • Paid, the amount has been transferred to your Aadhaar-seeded account.
  • Rejected / On hold. A document or conditionality is missing; the screen or your Anganwadi worker can tell you which.

Because PMMVY pays in instalments, each is tracked on its own: first child instalment 1 (Rs 3,000), first child instalment 2 (Rs 2,000), and the single second-girl-child instalment (Rs 6,000). One can show "paid" while another is still "pending" — that is normal, not an error.

"Approved but not credited", the commonest complaint

If an instalment shows approved but the money has not arrived, the problem is almost always at the bank end rather than the scheme end. The usual causes are:

  • Your bank account is not Aadhaar-seeded, so the DBT cannot land.
  • The account is not in your own name. A joint or husband's account is not accepted.
  • Your name differs between Aadhaar and the bank record, so the transfer bounces.

Fix: Visit your bank, seed your Aadhaar with an account in your own name, and align the name spelling with your Aadhaar. Then the pending DBT can be reprocessed.

Checking status offline

If you cannot use the portal, your Anganwadi worker or ASHA can look up your status on the field-functionary app and tell you which instalment is where and what is missing. Carry your application reference number.

Raising a grievance about status

If status is stuck with no clear reason, use Lodge / Track Grievances on pmmvy.wcd.gov.in. For phone help, the PMMVY and POSHAN helpline is 1515, live since 1 November 2025; the earlier 14408 still works during the transition.

Frequently asked questions

How long after applying should status update? Post-delivery instalments only move once you enter the birth registration and 14-week immunisation details on the portal, the instalment stays pending until that conditionality is recorded.

Can I check status without a reference number? Yes: your registered mobile number plus OTP retrieves your record.

The portal says paid but I have no SMS. Confirm the mobile number on file is current, then check the Aadhaar-seeded account passbook directly; the credit lands there regardless of SMS delivery.

Checking status is free. No Anganwadi worker, ASHA or agent may charge for it, and no official will ask for your OTP or bank PIN to "release" a payment.
