Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances: How to Check Application and Payment Status
To check your ADIP (Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances) application, log in to the ARJUN portal at adip.depwd.gov.in with the mobile number and registration number you used to apply, and open your application dashboard. Because ADIP supplies a physical device rather than cash, "status" means where you are in the registration → assessment → distribution journey, not a bank payment date. The parent scheme, ADIP, is run by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), and the ARJUN portal is the joint ADIP and Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana interface where every online application lives.
Where to check ADIP status
The primary place is the ARJUN portal (adip.depwd.gov.in). Keep two things ready before you log in:
- The registration number shown on screen when you submitted the application.
- The mobile number used at registration, for the OTP.
If you applied at a camp rather than online, your acknowledgement slip from the camp counter is your reference document; the district social welfare office, ALIMCO or the implementing agency that ran the camp holds the record.
What the ADIP journey looks like
An ADIP application moves through distinct stages rather than a single "approved/paid" flag. Understanding the stage tells you what to do next:
- Registered / submitted: your online application and documents are lodged on ARJUN and a registration number is generated. Nothing else happens until an assessment camp is scheduled in your district.
- Called for assessment, you are invited to an ADIP assessment camp, where a medical and technical team examines you and confirms the correct device and size. Attend when called; absence after being called closes the application.
- Assessed / device recommended. The team records the specific aid and specification suited to your disability. You receive an acknowledgement stating the device sanctioned and the distribution date.
- Distribution / fitting, you collect the aid at the distribution camp and sign the receipt. Devices such as prosthetics and hearing aids are fitted and adjusted on the spot.
Because the process is camp-driven, gaps between stages can be long. The wait is usually for the next camp in your district, not a decision on your file.
Checking status step by step
- Open adip.depwd.gov.in and choose the login / beneficiary option.
- Enter your registered mobile number and verify the OTP, or use your registration number where prompted.
- Open your application to see its current stage and any camp date assigned to you.
- Note any document or verification query flagged against the application and resolve it promptly.
If the portal shows no movement for a long time, it usually means no assessment camp has yet been scheduled in your district. The next step is to ask your district social welfare office or the implementing agency when the next camp is planned.
What about payment or reimbursement?
ADIP is an in-kind scheme — it hands over the device, not money, so most beneficiaries have no "payment status" to track. The exceptions are narrow: beneficiaries in the lower income slab may receive a transport allowance of Rs 250 and boarding/lodging support where a stay is needed for fitting, and reimbursement is paid to the bank account given in the application. If you are owed one of these, follow up through the same camp/implementing-agency channel that handled your device, keeping your bank passbook details ready.
For cochlear implant cases, the surgery is done at a hospital empanelled under the scheme; the empanelled-hospital list and case tracking sit with adipcochlearimplant.in rather than the general ARJUN dashboard.
If status is stuck, who to contact
- National helpline for all disabilities: 14456, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, the DEPwD helpline for ADIP and disability queries.
- Divya voicebot: 011-4473-9626; Divya chatbot on WhatsApp: 9646622622.
- ARJUN portal (adip.depwd.gov.in), for application status and to lodge a grievance against a stuck application.
- District social welfare office / implementing agency, for the camp schedule, which is what most "no update" cases are actually waiting on.
Quick FAQ
How long does ADIP take? It depends entirely on when the next assessment and distribution camp is held in your district, not on file processing time. There is no fixed number of days.
I lost my registration number, can I still check? Log in with your registered mobile number and OTP on ARJUN; if you applied at a camp, your acknowledgement slip and the implementing agency's record are your reference.
Is there any fee to check status? No. ADIP registration and status checking are free, and no agent can charge to add your name to a camp list.
