NPY vs Ni-kshay Mitra

NPY vs EDNS

EDNS (Energy Dense Nutritional Supplementation) was introduced in the October 2024 enhancement announced by the Union Health Minister. According to the Press Information Bureau, EDNS supplies a food supplement for the first two months of treatment to patients whose BMI is below 18.5 kg/m2 at diagnosis. An estimated 12 lakh patients a year. Unlike NPY, EDNS is in kind, targeted at underweight patients, and time-limited to the intensive phase.
