PMAY-G: How to Check Application, Beneficiary and Payment Status

This is a supporting guide for Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G). See the main guide for full eligibility, benefits and documents.

How to check your PMAY-G status

Under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G), you can check three different things: whether your name is in the beneficiary list, which construction stage has been verified, and whether an instalment has actually been released to your bank. All three are on the official portal pmayg.dord.gov.in and its AwaasSoft module; the AwaasApp and UMANG app show the same data. The parent PMAY-G guide covers eligibility and the Awaas+ survey route to getting listed.

One-line reminder: PMAY-G money reaches the Aadhaar-seeded account by DBT in instalments tied to verified construction stages; there is no walk-in application, selection comes from the Awaas+ wait list.

1. Check whether you are in the beneficiary list

  1. Open pmayg.dord.gov.in.
  2. Go to the Stakeholders menu and select IAY / PMAYG Beneficiary.
  3. Enter your Registration Number to see your own record directly. If you do not have it, use Advanced Search and filter by state, district, block and Gram Panchayat, then find your name.
  4. The beneficiary card shows your name, address, sanction details, instalment status and geo-tagged photographs.

If no record appears, your household may not yet be on the sanctioned list; see the parent guide's Awaas+ survey and gram sabha verification steps.

2. Check payment / instalment status (FTO Tracking)

Instalments move through a Fund Transfer Order (FTO). An FTO generated means the government has instructed the transfer to your bank.

  1. Open awaassoft.pmayg.dord.gov.in (the AwaasSoft portal).
  2. Go to AwaasSoft > FTO Tracking.
  3. Enter your FTO number or registration number to see whether the instalment has been released and its stage.

What the states of an FTO mean, in plain terms:

  • FTO generated / pending signature, the release is queued but not yet authorised.
  • FTO signed / sent to bank: funds have been instructed to your account; credit usually follows within a few working days.
  • Rejected / failed. The transfer failed, most often because the bank account is not Aadhaar-seeded or the name does not match. Fix the account and the release is re-attempted.

3. Check construction-stage / physical progress

PMAY-G releases each instalment only after the previous stage is verified with a geo-tagged, time-stamped photograph (foundation/plinth, lintel, roof, completion).

  1. Use the AwaasApp or UMANG app to see which stage has been geo-tagged and verified for your house.
  2. On the portal, the beneficiary card's physical-progress section shows every status from start to completion with photographs.
  3. If a stage is complete on the ground but the next instalment has not moved, the usual cause is a missing or unverified geo-tagged photograph for the previous stage, get the panchayat/block official to upload and verify it.

4. Check eligibility before you expect a status

If you are not yet in the list, use the "Am I Eligible?" tool on the portal home page to check whether your household clears the exclusion criteria (see the parent guide for the full list).

What to do if the status is stuck

  • Bank account not Aadhaar-seeded — seed it at your branch so DBT can reach it.
  • Geo-tagged photograph pending; ask the block/panchayat official to capture and verify it.
  • Name/account mismatch across Aadhaar, job card and bank: get the records aligned.
  • Physical verification pending: follow up with the Block Development Office.

Escalate with the PMAY-G toll-free helplines 1800-11-6446 and 1800-11-3377, or at your Block Development Office.

FAQ

Where do I find my registration number? Collect your PMAY-ID / registration number from the block office once your name appears in the sanctioned list.

FTO says signed but no money; why? Credit follows the signed FTO in a few working days; if it fails, the account is likely not Aadhaar-seeded or the name mismatches.

Can I check on my phone? Yes, the AwaasApp and UMANG app show your beneficiary card, stage progress and DBT credit.
