Delhi Talent Hunt — Hauslon Ki Udaan
Delhi state government scheme
Delhi Talent Hunt, branded Hauslon Ki Udaan, is a Rs 10 crore cultural talent competition of the Government of NCT of Delhi for residents aged 16 to 35 across all 70 assembly constituencies. Entry is free and online at delhitalenthunt.com, with categories from singing and dance to sculpture, and reported top prizes of Rs 2.5 lakh.
What is Delhi Talent Hunt: Hauslon Ki Udaan?
Delhi Talent Hunt, branded Hauslon Ki Udaan, is described on its official platform as "a flagship cultural initiative of the Government of NCT of Delhi, designed to discover, nurture, and elevate hidden talent from across the city." Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched it on 20 May 2026 with a reported outlay of about Rs 10 crore, and the government expected participation from more than 25,000 young people drawn from all 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi.
Hauslon Ki Udaan is run by the Department of Art, Culture and Languages, Government of NCT of Delhi. It is a competition rather than a welfare entitlement: there is no monthly payment, no scholarship and no guaranteed benefit. What a participant gets is a free, structured route from a phone-shot video to a state-level stage, and, for winners, cash prizes.
What the competition offers
- Free entry, with no registration fee at any stage.
- A merit-based ladder: online auditions, then constituency-level competitions, then zonal showcases, then a grand finale.
- Reported cash prizes of Rs 2.5 lakh, Rs 2 lakh, Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh for the top four places, plus trophies and certificates.
- Visibility to a public audience and an expert jury.
Who is eligible for Hauslon Ki Udaan?
You can take part if:
- You are an Indian citizen aged 16 to 35 years. The age was reckoned as on 1 March 2026 for the 2026-27 edition.
- You are a resident of Delhi, which is what maps you to one of the 70 assembly constituencies for the constituency round.
- You have a talent in one of the listed categories.
- You can record and upload an original performance video.
Entries are accepted from individuals, duos and groups, so a band, a dance troupe or a theatre team can enter together. The platform states that participants may come from any section of society; there is no income limit, no educational qualification and no professional-versus-amateur distinction in the announced criteria.
You cannot take part if:
- You are under 16 or over 35 years of age.
- You are not a resident of Delhi. The competition is constituency-mapped, so a participant outside Delhi has no constituency round to enter.
- Your entry is AI-generated, edited, plagiarised or offensive, such submissions are prohibited outright and are removed rather than scored.
- Your talent falls outside the notified categories.
What categories can I enter?
The platform and the launch announcements together list these categories:
| Category | Type |
|---|---|
| Singing | Performing |
| Dance | Performing |
| Instrumental music | Performing |
| Music composition | Performing |
| Theatre | Performing |
| Digital art and visual design | Visual |
| Sculpture | Visual |
| Fine art | Visual |
| Pottery | Visual |
Choose the category that matches what the video actually shows. A singer who uploads a dance clip is judged against dance entries, and category changes after submission are not guaranteed.
How to apply for Delhi Talent Hunt Hauslon Ki Udaan
- Open the official platform at delhitalenthunt.com. Check the banner showing the currently active round before you start, since the competition moves in rounds rather than staying open all year.
- Register on the platform with your name, mobile number and email address, and verify the OTP.
- Complete your profile for identity verification — age, Delhi address and the assembly constituency you belong to. This step decides which constituency round you compete in.
- Record your performance video in a single continuous take, in HD, with no editing and no AI generation. Keep the framing simple and the audio clean; most rejections at this stage are technical, not artistic.
- Upload the talent entry in the specified format. The initial round used a YouTube link submission, and pick your category.
- Submit and note your entry reference. Registration for the first online round ran from 20 May to 29 May 2026.
- Share your entry for public voting, then wait for the jury round. Public votes carry a reported 25% weightage and the expert jury 75%.
How does the selection work?
Hauslon Ki Udaan runs as a four-stage funnel:
- Round 1 to online participation. Every registered participant uploads a video. This is the round the platform showed as active at the time of fact-checking.
- Constituency-level competitions. Shortlisted entries compete within their own assembly constituency, which is why the residence and constituency details on the profile matter.
- Zonal showcases. Constituency winners perform at a larger zonal stage.
- Grand finale. Zonal winners compete for the top prizes.
Scoring combines public votes with jury marks. Because the jury carries the larger share, a large social media following helps but does not decide the result.
What are the rules on the video?
The rules are strict and worth reading before recording:
- Original work only. Plagiarised performances are disqualified.
- Single continuous take. Cuts, splices and multi-clip edits are not allowed.
- No AI-generated content. This is stated explicitly as prohibited.
- HD quality. Poor resolution and inaudible sound weaken an otherwise strong performance and can make an entry unusable.
- Nothing offensive. Content that is obscene, defamatory or communal is removed.
A practical tip that follows from the single-take rule: rehearse fully, then record the whole piece in one go with the phone fixed on a stand. Re-recording a full take is allowed; stitching two takes together is not.
What do winners receive?
Reported prizes for the 2026-27 edition are:
| Place | Prize |
|---|---|
| First | Rs 2.5 lakh |
| Second | Rs 2 lakh |
| Third | Rs 1.5 lakh |
| Fourth | Rs 1 lakh |
Winners also receive trophies and certificates, and the government has framed the platform as a route to further opportunities in the creative sector. The overall allocation reported for the initiative is around Rs 10 crore.
Common mistakes that cost participants a round
- Missing the round window. The competition is round-based, and the first online participation window ran 20-29 May 2026. There is no rolling entry.
- An edited video. Participants habitually cut the best parts together; that single habit breaks the single-take rule.
- Wrong constituency on the profile, which puts a participant into the wrong constituency round or leaves the mapping incomplete.
- A broken or private video link. If the jury cannot open the link, the entry cannot be scored. Set the video to public or unlisted, never private.
- Wrong category selection, which places a strong entry against an unrelated field.
- Age just outside the band. The 16-35 range is reckoned as on the notified cut-off date, not on the date of upload.

Participation is free from start to finish. No one is authorised to charge a participant for registration, for "guaranteed selection" or for votes. Report any such demand to the support email above.
Note on sourcing: the prize amounts, the Rs 10 crore outlay, the 20 May 2026 launch and the 20-29 May 2026 first-round window come from launch reporting and scheme aggregators rather than from a downloadable departmental notification. The official platform confirms the organiser, the age band, the categories, the four-stage structure and the support contacts. Check delhitalenthunt.com for the live round before relying on any date here.
How to check your application status
Hauslon Ki Udaan does not run a benefit-disbursal style status tracker with a reference number and a "pending / approved / rejected" screen. Instead, status moves in rounds, and a participant checks it in a few different ways depending on which stage of the funnel they are in.
- Log back into delhitalenthunt.com with the same mobile number and OTP used at registration. The logged-in profile page is the first place to check whether your entry was accepted into the round, since a technically invalid upload (broken link, wrong format) is usually flagged here rather than by a phone call.
- Check the video's public vote count on the platform itself. Because public voting carries a reported 25% weightage, the running vote tally on your entry page is a live signal of where you stand relative to other entries in your constituency, even before the jury round is scored.
- Watch for the constituency-level results announcement. Shortlists move from the online round to the constituency round in a batch, not individually, so the platform (and any linked social media handles of the Department of Art, Culture and Languages) will post the list of constituency-round entrants rather than notifying each participant one by one.
- Call the helpline if the profile page shows nothing. For a participant whose entry seems to have disappeared, or who cannot tell whether their upload actually registered, the helpline at +91 76782 41162 is the direct way to ask a human whether an entry was recorded and which round it currently sits in.
- Email for a written confirmation. Writing to email-support@delhitalenthunt.com with the registered mobile number and the category entered is useful when a participant needs to keep a written trail, for instance if a video link stopped working after submission and they want confirmation of what was received before the round closed.
Because the competition advances round by round rather than continuously, checking status once at submission and then again is not enough: it is worth re-checking the profile page each time a new round is announced as open, since constituency and zonal shortlists are published on the platform's own timeline and are not pushed out to every participant individually.
