Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi Yojana: Why Applications Get Rejected and How to Fix It

This is a supporting guide for Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi Yojana (PM-DAKSH). See the main guide for full eligibility, benefits and documents.

Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi Yojana: Why Applications Get Rejected and How to Fix It

Most Pradhan Mantri Dakshta Aur Kushalta Sampann Hitgrahi Yojana (PM-DAKSH) applications fail for a small number of avoidable reasons. A caste certificate in the wrong format, income above the ceiling, an Aadhaar name mismatch, or simply no batch running in the district. This article takes each reason in turn and gives the concrete fix and the grievance route. The parent PM-DAKSH guide covers who qualifies; here we focus only on what goes wrong and how to recover.

Reason 1: Caste, tribe or EWS certificate problem

The single most common rejection is a caste or EWS certificate not in the prescribed format, or issued by an authority that is not competent under your state's rules. PM-DAKSH does not accept self-declaration.

Fix: Obtain a fresh certificate from the competent revenue authority (tehsildar / SDM or the state-designated officer) in your state's standard format. SC, OBC and De-notified/Nomadic/Semi-Nomadic Tribe applicants use a caste/tribe certificate; EWS applicants submit an EWS certificate instead. Upload a clear, legible scan; blurred certificates trigger the same rejection.

Reason 2: Income above the ceiling (OBC and EWS only)

OBC applicants with annual family income above Rs 3 lakh are excluded, and EWS applicants are subject to the ceiling stated on their EWS category. SC, DNT and safai-karamchari applicants have no income ceiling, so this reason should never apply to them; if it does, the certificate category was likely mis-entered.

Fix: If your income is within the limit but the certificate is stale, get a current income certificate. If you selected the wrong target category during registration, correct it before re-applying, because the income rule is applied against the category you chose.

Reason 3: Aadhaar name mismatch

A name mismatch between Aadhaar and the caste certificate or bank account fails verification, and it also breaks the DBT stipend later.

Fix: Make the name identical across Aadhaar, the certificate and the bank account. Correcting Aadhaar (or updating the bank record to match Aadhaar) before re-applying saves a second rejection at the stipend stage.

Reason 4: Age outside 18-45

PM-DAKSH is open only to candidates aged 18 to 45 on the date of registration. An applicant below 18 or above 45 is rejected.

Fix: There is no waiver on the age band. If you are within it but were rejected, check that your date of birth was entered correctly and matches Aadhaar.

Reason 5: No batch running (the "silent" rejection)

Where no batch exists in your district for the chosen job role, the application lapses rather than being formally rejected — you simply never get a batch allotment. This is not a fault in your documents.

Fix: Log in to pmdaksh.dosje.gov.in, browse the available programmes filtered by your state and district, and pick a job role and centre that has an active batch. Being flexible on the trade or the nearby centre is the fastest route to enrolment.

Reason 6: Duplicate enrolment

A candidate already enrolled in another centrally funded skill course for the same job role is flagged, because PM-DAKSH registration is linked to Aadhaar and duplicate centrally funded enrolments are caught at verification.

Fix: Complete or formally exit the other course before applying, or choose a different job role. You cannot draw two government-funded skill benefits for the same role at once.

How to fix it: the grievance route

  1. Contact the training institute listed against your application first, document verification and batch formation are handled by the institute, and most fixable rejections are resolved here.
  2. Re-apply with corrected documents through pmdaksh.dosje.gov.in once the certificate, income proof or Aadhaar name is fixed.
  3. Call the PM-DAKSH helpline on 1800-110-396 (or 011-26382479) if the institute does not respond.
  4. File a written complaint in the grievance section on pmdaksh.dosje.gov.in, this is also the channel to report any institute demanding an admission, certification or "seat booking" fee, because PM-DAKSH is 100% free.

The one-line fix summary

Before re-applying, verify four things line up: your target category and certificate are correct and in-format, your income is within the ceiling for that category, your name matches across Aadhaar, certificate and bank, and the job role you pick has a live batch in your district. Get those right and the common rejections disappear.
