What is Krishi Yantra Anudan in Uttar Pradesh?

Krishi Yantra par Anudan is the farm machinery subsidy of the Uttar Pradesh Department of Agriculture. Under it a registered farmer books the implement or machine they want on the department's own portal, buys it from an authorised supplier, and receives a subsidy on the purchase directly into their bank account. Farmers commonly call it Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana or simply "yantra booking".

The department runs the whole thing through the DARSHAN portal at agriculture.up.gov.in. The Agriculture Department's home page carries the booking announcement directly, for the 2026-27 cycle it stated that booking for agricultural machinery was open from 16 July 2026 to 10 August 2026. That is the shape of the scheme: not a permanently open counter, but windows the department opens and closes by notice, usually keyed to the season and to the budget available for each implement.

Three features define how it works in practice, and getting them wrong is what costs farmers the subsidy:

  • Booking is against a farmer registration number. You register once on the department portal with Aadhaar, land records and bank details. Booking without that registration is not possible.
  • Booking is not purchase. A confirmed token entitles you to buy the machine under the scheme. The subsidy money follows the verified purchase bill.
  • Payment is by DBT into an Aadhaar-seeded account. An unseeded account fails at the last step, after all the work is done.

The department is unusually direct about fraud around this scheme. Its portal states that the booking confirmation process is completely transparent and online, advises farmers to avoid unauthorised phone contacts, and asks that fraud attempts be reported to the district Deputy Director of Agriculture. It also explicitly warns against fake portals, naming upagriculture.org.in as a site to avoid, and tells farmers to use only official government channels.

Who is eligible for the farm machinery subsidy?

You can book if:

  • You are a farmer resident in Uttar Pradesh with land recorded in your name.
  • You hold a farmer registration number on the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department portal.
  • You have an Aadhaar card and a bank account that is Aadhaar-seeded.
  • You have a working mobile number linked to your registration, since the token and every subsequent alert arrive by SMS.
  • You are booking within an open booking window notified by the department.

You cannot book, or are not eligible, if:

  • You are not registered on the department portal. There is no offline booking counter that bypasses this.
  • Your land is not in Uttar Pradesh, since this is a state scheme funded through the state's agriculture budget.
  • Your bank account is not Aadhaar-seeded, which blocks the DBT credit even if everything else is correct.
  • You are applying outside a notified window. The portal simply does not accept a booking when the window is shut.
  • You have already drawn subsidy on the same implement within the cooling period the department applies for that machine. Repeat subsidy on the same machine to the same farmer is restricted.
  • You buy the machine before the token is confirmed, in which case the purchase falls outside the scheme and no subsidy is payable on it.

Scheduled caste and scheduled tribe farmers, and small and marginal farmers, are eligible for higher subsidy rates on several implements. The rate applicable to each category is displayed against the implement at booking time, and a caste certificate is required to claim the category rate.

How to apply for farm machinery subsidy in Uttar Pradesh

  1. Register as a farmer on agriculture.up.gov.in if you have not already. Enter Aadhaar, land record details, mobile number and bank account with IFSC. Keep the registration number safe, every later step uses it. Help is available on 7839883124.
  2. Get your bank account Aadhaar-seeded at the branch before you go further. This one step prevents the most common failure, which happens at the very end when the DBT credit bounces. The department's DBT validation email is dbt.validation@gmail.com.
  3. Watch for the booking notice. The Agriculture Department publishes the window on its home page, for 2026-27 it ran from 16 July 2026 to 10 August 2026. Bookings are not accepted outside the window.
  4. Log in and book a token for the specific machine you want. Choose the implement carefully; the subsidy ceiling differs by machine and by farmer category, and both are shown at booking.
  5. Pay the token amount where the portal requires one for that machine category. The amount and its refund terms are shown on screen at booking time.
  6. Check your booking status on the farmer booking status page at agriculture.up.gov.in/pmkusum/token/FarmerYantraReport.aspx, which covers both solar equipment and agricultural machinery tokens.
  7. Buy the machine from an authorised supplier once the token is confirmed, and take a proper GST purchase bill in your own name.
  8. Submit the bill for verification as directed by the portal or the block agriculture office. Departmental staff verify the machine physically.
  9. Receive the subsidy by direct benefit transfer into your Aadhaar-seeded account.

How does the token and selection process work?

Demand for popular implements routinely exceeds the budget for them, so the department books against tokens rather than accepting unlimited applications. A farmer generates a token for a chosen machine during the window. Where applications exceed the target for that implement in that district, selection is made by the department's published method for that cycle, and the outcome is shown against the token on the status page.

This is exactly the point at which farmers get approached by touts offering to "get the token confirmed". The department's own advisory answers that: the process is completely transparent and online, unauthorised phone contacts should be avoided, and any fraud attempt should be reported to the district Deputy Director of Agriculture. No official will call asking for an OTP or a payment to confirm a token.

How to check your booking and payment status

  1. Open agriculture.up.gov.in and go to the farmer booking status page for solar and agricultural equipment.
  2. Enter your registration number or the details the page asks for.
  3. Read the token status β€” booked, confirmed, or otherwise, for each machine you applied for.
  4. For the money, check your bank passbook or the SMS on your registered mobile number after the purchase verification is complete.

If the status has not moved for a long period, take the token number and the purchase bill to the block agriculture office or the district Deputy Director of Agriculture, who holds the district's verification records.

Why farm machinery subsidy claims fail

  • Bank account not Aadhaar-seeded, so the DBT credit fails at the last step.
  • Booking attempted outside the notified window.
  • No farmer registration, or registration details not matching Aadhaar.
  • Machine bought before the token was confirmed, putting the purchase outside the scheme.
  • Purchase bill not in the farmer's own name, or from an unauthorised supplier.
  • Mobile number wrong or unreachable, so the token confirmation SMS never arrives and the deadline to buy passes.
  • Physical verification failed because the machine could not be produced or the serial number did not match the bill.
  • Documents uploaded on a fake portal, the department names upagriculture.org.in as a site to avoid.

Where to get help and complain

  • Registration and DBT helpline: 7839883124
  • DBT validation email: dbt.validation@gmail.com
  • Additional Director (Extension), webmaster contact: 0522-2207784
  • District Deputy Director of Agriculture, for fraud reports and for district-level verification disputes
  • Block agriculture office, for token and bill verification queries
  • Jansunwai at jansunwai.up.nic.in, for a written grievance with a trackable complaint number

Booking on the official portal is free apart from any notified token amount shown on screen. No agent, dealer or officer is entitled to a fee for booking, for confirming a token, or for releasing the subsidy, and any such demand should be reported to the district Deputy Director of Agriculture.

Frequently asked questions

When can I book farm machinery in Uttar Pradesh?

The Agriculture Department announced booking for agricultural machinery for 2026-27 from 16 July 2026 to 10 August 2026. The department opens windows during the year rather than accepting bookings continuously, so the notice on agriculture.up.gov.in is the only reliable source of the current dates.

Where do I book?

On the Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department's own portal at agriculture.up.gov.in, which runs the DARSHAN system. The department warns publicly against fake lookalike sites and names upagriculture.org.in as one to avoid, so type the official address yourself.

Do I need to register before booking?

Yes. Booking runs against your farmer registration number on the department portal, so complete registration with Aadhaar, land records and bank details first. Registration and DBT help is available on 7839883124.

How do I check my booking status?

Use the farmer booking status page for solar and agricultural equipment at agriculture.up.gov.in/pmkusum/token/FarmerYantraReport.aspx. It shows the status of the token you generated against your registration.

When is the subsidy money paid?

After you buy the machine and the purchase is verified. The subsidy is released by direct benefit transfer into the farmer's Aadhaar-seeded bank account against the verified purchase bill, not at the time of booking.

Can an agent get my token confirmed faster?

No. The department states that the booking confirmation process is completely transparent and online, advises farmers to avoid unauthorised phone contacts, and asks that fraud attempts be reported to the district Deputy Director of Agriculture. Nobody can move you up a queue.

What if my bank account is not Aadhaar-seeded?

Get it seeded at your bank branch before the subsidy is processed, because a DBT credit to an unseeded account fails. The department runs a dedicated registration and DBT helpline on 7839883124 and an email at dbt.validation@gmail.com for exactly this problem.

Is there a fee to book?

Booking on the official portal is free. Some machinery categories require a refundable token amount as notified for that window, which is shown on the portal at booking time. No service fee is payable to any person.
