Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana, Bihar
Bihar state government scheme
Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana gives minority-community entrepreneurs in Bihar up to Rs 10 lakh to set up a new manufacturing or service unit, half as an outright subsidy and half as an interest-free loan repayable in 84 monthly instalments. Applications are made online at udyami.bihar.gov.in during the annual application window.
What is Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana?
Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana is the minority-community stream of Bihar's entrepreneurship funding programme, run under the Minority Welfare Department and applied for through the Government of Bihar's Udyami portal at udyami.bihar.gov.in, the same portal that hosts the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana (MMUY) and the Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana (BLUY).
Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana exists to move minority youth in Bihar from job-seeking into unit ownership. Rather than lending money at a subsidised rate, the scheme hands over half the project cost as a grant that never has to be repaid and lends the other half without interest.
The financial package per unit
- Total assistance: up to Rs 10,00,000 per unit.
- Subsidy: 50 per cent of the assistance, a maximum of Rs 5,00,000, given as an outright grant.
- Interest-free loan: the remaining 50 per cent, a maximum of Rs 5,00,000, repayable in 84 equal monthly instalments with a grace period before repayment starts.
- No collateral and no margin money is demanded from the beneficiary.
- Training and project monitoring are separately funded by the government over and above the assistance to the unit.
Money is released in instalments against verified progress, not as a single transfer, and the beneficiary must complete the compulsory entrepreneurship training before disbursement begins.
Who is eligible for Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana?
You can apply if:
- You are a permanent resident of Bihar.
- You belong to a notified minority community: Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Parsi or Jain.
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You meet the educational qualification prescribed in the guideline for the round, typically Intermediate, ITI, polytechnic or an equivalent or higher qualification.
- You propose to set up a new manufacturing or service unit from the approved project list.
- The unit will be located in your own district of residence.
- You have, or will open, a current account in the name of the proposed firm for receiving the instalments.
You cannot apply / are not eligible if:

- You do not belong to a notified minority community: such applicants should instead look at Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana or Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana on the same portal, which have their own SC, ST, EBC, women, youth and general categories.

How to apply for Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana
- Watch udyami.bihar.gov.in for the notice announcing the application window and download the guideline PDF published with it. For FY 2025-26 the window ran from 25 February 2026, 3:00 pm to 15 March 2026, 5:00 pm after an extension.
- Register on the portal with your name, mobile number and email ID, and verify the OTP sent to your mobile.
- Log in and select Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana from the list of schemes on the application dashboard.
- Fill the application form with personal, caste, educational, address and bank details, and select your project from the approved list of manufacturing and service activities.
- Upload the scanned documents — Aadhaar, residence certificate, community certificate, educational certificate, photograph, signature and bank details: in the file sizes and formats the portal specifies.
- Submit the application before the closing time and download the acknowledgement PDF with your application number.
- Wait for the computerised randomisation, through which the beneficiary list is drawn from the eligible applications.
- Attend document verification at the District Industries Centre or the designated office when called, carrying every original.
- Complete the compulsory entrepreneurship training and open the firm's current account, after which the first instalment is released.
There is no offline route. The scheme is applied for entirely online on udyami.bihar.gov.in, which is also the only place the beneficiary list is published.
How to check your application status
- Open udyami.bihar.gov.in and log in with the user ID and password created at registration.
- Open the application status section on the dashboard to see the stage: submitted, shortlisted in the randomisation, called for verification, selected, under training, or disbursed.
- Check the selection lists and notices published on the portal home page after each round's draw.
- For a portal or upload problem, call the toll-free number 1800-345-6214 on a weekday between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
Why applications get rejected
- Applying outside the window. The portal simply closes at the announced time, and a late application does not exist.
- Community certificate missing or issued by the wrong authority.
- Trading activity proposed instead of a manufacturing or service project from the approved list.
- An existing running unit presented as a new one during verification.
- Prior benefit under PMEGP, MUDRA or another entrepreneurship scheme, which surfaces at the verification stage.
- Document mismatch, the name or date of birth differing between Aadhaar, the educational certificate and the bank account.
- Failure to appear for verification or training when called, which forfeits the selection.
- No firm current account opened, which stops the first instalment even after selection.
Key points to plan around
Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana is not a first-come-first-served scheme. Selection is by computerised randomisation from the pool of valid applications, so the only thing an applicant controls is whether the application is complete and eligible. Two practical consequences follow: submit well before the closing hour to avoid a server rush, and make sure every uploaded document matches the others exactly, because a mismatch found at verification cannot be cured after the draw.
Applicants who are not from a minority community, or who miss this window, should look at the two sibling schemes on the same portal. Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana covers SC, ST, EBC, women, youth and other categories with a comparable package, and Bihar Laghu Udyami Yojana targets very poor families identified in the state's caste-based survey. All three run from udyami.bihar.gov.in with the same registration and the same helpline.
Help and grievance redressal
- Udyami portal toll-free helpline: 1800-345-6214, weekdays 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- District Industries Centre (DIC) in your district, which conducts document verification and handles post-selection queries.
- Minority Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, for policy questions on the minority stream.
- Bihar State Minorities Financial Corporation, 34 Hardinge Road, Patna 800001, phone 0612-2204975, toll-free 1800-345-6123, which runs the department's other minority credit scheme and can point you to the right office.
Registration and application on udyami.bihar.gov.in are free. No agent can secure a place in the randomised selection, and any demand for money to do so should be reported on the toll-free helpline.

Frequently asked questions
How much money does Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana give?
The scheme provides financial assistance of up to Rs 10 lakh per unit, of which 50 per cent, a maximum of Rs 5 lakh, is an outright subsidy and 50 per cent, a maximum of Rs 5 lakh, is an interest-free loan. The government separately spends a further amount per unit on training and project monitoring.
Does the loan under this scheme carry interest?
No. The loan half of the assistance is interest-free, and it is repayable in 84 equal monthly instalments. Repayment begins after a grace period, and no collateral or margin money is sought from the applicant.
Who is eligible for Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana?
A permanent resident of Bihar belonging to a notified minority community — Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Parsi or Jain — who is at least 18 years old, meets the educational qualification prescribed in the round's guideline, and proposes to set up a new manufacturing or service unit in his or her own district.
Can I use the money for a shop or trading business?
No. The scheme funds new manufacturing and service-sector units from the approved project list. Trading and purely commercial buying-and-selling activities are outside its scope, and an existing running business is generally not eligible either.
When can I apply?
Only during the announced application window each financial year. For FY 2025-26 the Udyami portal opened applications on 25 February 2026 at 3:00 pm and closed them on 15 March 2026 at 5:00 pm after an extension. The window is short, so keep documents ready in advance.
How are beneficiaries selected?
Selection is by computerised randomisation from among the eligible applications, followed by document verification and mandatory training before any money is released. Applying early within the window does not improve your chances, because the draw is random.
Is this the same as Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Rozgar Rin Yojana?
No, they are two different schemes. Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Rozgar Rin Yojana is a Rs 5 lakh concessional loan at 5 per cent interest run by the Bihar State Minorities Financial Corporation through District Minority Welfare Offices; Mukhyamantri Alpsankhyak Udyami Yojana is a Rs 10 lakh subsidy-plus-interest-free-loan package applied for on the Udyami portal.
What is the helpline for the Udyami portal?
The toll-free number published on udyami.bihar.gov.in is 1800-345-6214, available on weekdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Use it for portal errors, document upload problems and status queries during the application window.
