Laghu Evam Seemant Krishak Vridhjan Samman Pension Yojana (Rajasthan Old Age Farmer Pension Scheme)
Rajasthan state government scheme
Rajasthan Old Age Farmer Pension Scheme pays a monthly pension to small and marginal farmers: women aged 55 and above and men aged 58 and above, who own land in Rajasthan. The social security pension rate rose to Rs 1,300 a month from 1 January 2026. Apply free through an e-Mitra kiosk or the RajSSP module on sso.rajasthan.gov.in.
What is the Rajasthan Old Age Farmer Pension Scheme?
Rajasthan Old Age Farmer Pension Scheme, officially Laghu Evam Seemant Krishak Vridhjan Samman Pension Yojana, is a monthly social security pension for elderly small and marginal farmers in Rajasthan. The Social Justice and Empowerment Department administers it, and it is paid through the Rajasthan Social Security Pension portal at ssp.rajasthan.gov.in, known as RajSSP. It is often searched as Krishak Vridhjan Pension or the Rajasthan farmer old age pension.
The scheme was introduced to close a specific gap. A farmer who owns a small plot of land is not landless and often falls outside labour welfare schemes, yet the income from that land is far too small to support old age. Rajasthan therefore carved out a dedicated pension stream for small and marginal landholders, using the same entry ages and the same payment machinery as the general old age pension but a different eligibility test: landholding rather than a pure income test.
Laghu Evam Seemant Krishak Vridhjan Samman Pension Yojana is one of four pension streams on RajSSP. The others are the general old age pension (Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Samman Pension Yojana), the Ekalnari Samman Pension for single women, and the Vishesh Yogyajan Samman Pension for persons with disabilities. Only one of the four may be drawn at a time. A farmer already receiving the general old age pension cannot also receive this one.
The pension amount tracks the common social security pension rate rather than a separate farmer rate. That rate has been revised in steps from Rs 750 to Rs 1,000, then Rs 1,150, then Rs 1,250, and to Rs 1,300 a month with effect from 1 January 2026, first disbursed in February 2026. The Rajasthan Budget 2026-27 announced a further rise to Rs 1,450 a month for more than 91 lakh pensioners across all four streams. These revisions follow the Rajasthan Minimum Income Guarantee Act, 2023, which puts the pension on a statutory footing with provision for periodic escalation.
Third-party directories still quote the scheme's original age-based slabs, Rs 750 a month for women aged 55 and above and men aged 58 and above, and Rs 1,000 a month from age 75. Those slabs are historic. The uniform statutory rate now applies, so confirm the figure on ssp.rajasthan.gov.in before relying on it.
Main features
- Monthly pension paid by DBT into the pensioner's own Aadhaar-seeded account.
- Entry age of 55 for women and 58 for men.
- Restricted to small and marginal farmers holding land in Rajasthan.
- Statutory backing under the Rajasthan Minimum Income Guarantee Act, 2023.
- Application through e-Mitra or the RajSSP module on the SSO portal.
- Annual verification required to keep payment running.
Who is eligible for the farmer old age pension?
You can claim the pension if:
- You are a woman aged 55 or above, or a man aged 58 or above.
- You are a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
- You are a small or marginal farmer, holding land within the state's notified limits, and the holding is recorded in your own name in the khasra, khatauni or jamabandi.
- You are listed by name in a Rajasthan Jan Aadhaar family record.
- You hold a bank account in your own name seeded with your Aadhaar number.
You are not eligible if:
- You are a large landholder whose holding exceeds the small and marginal farmer limits.
- You are already drawing another RajSSP social security pension. The general old age, single woman or disability pension.
- You are a serving government employee or a government service pensioner.
- You are an income tax payer.
- You are not a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
- You hold no land record in your own name. Landless agricultural labourers cannot apply under this stream; they should apply under the general old age pension, which has no landholding requirement.
An important practical point: the land must be in the applicant's own name. Elderly farmers who transferred their holding to a son or daughter years ago will find the land record test fails, and for them the general old age pension is the correct route.
How much is paid and when?
The pension is credited monthly by Direct Benefit Transfer. The rate in force at the time of writing is Rs 1,300 a month, effective 1 January 2026. The Rajasthan Budget 2026-27 announced Rs 1,450 a month.
RajSSP sometimes releases two or more months together, so a missing month is not by itself evidence that the pension has stopped. Check the month-wise payment history on the portal first. The first credit after sanction carries arrears calculated from the sanction date and is therefore usually larger than the monthly rate.
Payment reaches only an account held in the pensioner's own name and seeded with Aadhaar. Joint accounts and accounts in a family member's name are rejected.

How to apply for the Rajasthan farmer old age pension
- Get a current land record from your patwari or tehsil office first — a khasra, khatauni or jamabandi extract in your own name. This is the document that decides whether you qualify for the farmer stream at all.
- Collect the rest of the set: Jan Aadhaar, Aadhaar, age proof, income certificate, domicile proof and a bank passbook in your own name.
- Go to an e-Mitra kiosk, or log in to sso.rajasthan.gov.in and open the RajSSP application module. E-Mitra is the practical route for most applicants because the operator completes the biometric authentication in the same visit.
- Select Laghu Evam Seemant Krishak Vridhjan Samman Pension Yojana, enter your Jan Aadhaar number, and choose your own name from the family members listed.
- Fill in age, landholding, income, address and bank details, and upload the land record and other documents.
- Submit the form and collect the printed acknowledgement with your application number.
- The file goes to the Sub-Divisional Officer or Tehsildar, who verifies the land record with the revenue staff before sanction. Attend if you are called.
- Once sanctioned, a PPO number is issued and the first credit, including arrears from the sanction date, reaches your bank account.
How to apply offline
- Visit your nearest e-Mitra kiosk or the Tehsil office with the complete document set including the land record.
- Ask for the RajSSP farmer old age pension form to be filled against your Jan Aadhaar number.
- Give your biometric authentication at the kiosk.
- Collect the acknowledgement slip carrying the application number. The notified e-Mitra charge is a small fixed fee, commonly around Rs 33.
How to check your pension status
- Open ssp.rajasthan.gov.in.
- Select Pensioner Status or Beneficiary Report.
- Enter your application number, or the PPO number once sanctioned.
- The screen shows pending, sanctioned or rejected status, and for sanctioned pensions the month-wise payment history.
The Jan Soochna Portal at jansoochna.rajasthan.gov.in returns the same record searched by Jan Aadhaar number, useful when the application number is lost.
Why do farmer pension applications get rejected?
- Land record not in the applicant's own name, most often because the holding was transferred to a child earlier.
- Holding above the small and marginal limits, which moves the applicant out of this stream entirely.
- Stale or unverifiable land record, an extract the revenue staff cannot reconcile with current jamabandi entries.
- Age not met, particularly men applying between 55 and 58 on the assumption that the woman's age applies to them.
- Already drawing another RajSSP pension, detected automatically.
- Applicant not listed in a Jan Aadhaar family record.
- Bank account in a relative's name or held jointly.
Why does a sanctioned pension stop arriving?
- Annual verification not completed at an e-Mitra kiosk. The commonest cause, and the pension resumes with arrears once it is done.
- Bank account not Aadhaar-seeded, dormant, closed or KYC-lapsed.
- Name mismatch between Aadhaar, Jan Aadhaar and the bank record.
- Duplicate pension flagged across two RajSSP streams.
- Change in landholding reported at re-verification.
Where to complain if something goes wrong
- RajSSP helpline: 0141-5111007, 0141-5111010 or 0141-2740637, and email ssp-rj@nic.in.
- Rajasthan Sampark on 181 or sampark.rajasthan.gov.in, for a formal written grievance with a tracking number.
- Jan Soochna Portal on 1800-180-6127, to see the state's records against your Jan Aadhaar number.
- Tehsildar or Sub-Divisional Officer, the sanctioning authority, for land record disputes and long-pending applications.
- Patwari and the tehsil revenue branch, for correcting the land record itself before re-applying.
Applying is free apart from the notified e-Mitra service charge. No official will ask you for an OTP or a bank password, and no agent can get a pension sanctioned for a fee.

Frequently asked questions
How much is the Rajasthan old age farmer pension per month?
The social security pension rate was raised to Rs 1,300 a month with effect from 1 January 2026, up from Rs 1,250, and the Rajasthan Budget 2026-27 announced a further rise to Rs 1,450. Older published figures of Rs 750 and Rs 1,000 a month relate to the original age slabs and have been superseded.
What age qualifies for the farmer old age pension in Rajasthan?
Women qualify at 55 years and men at 58 years, the same entry ages as the general Rajasthan old age pension.
Which farmers count as small and marginal for this scheme?
Small and marginal farmers are those holding land within the state's notified small and marginal limits, verified from the khasra, khatauni or jamabandi record. Landless agricultural labourers do not qualify under this stream and should look at the general old age pension instead.
Can I draw this pension and the general old age pension together?
No. A person may draw only one of the four RajSSP social security pensions at a time — old age, single woman, disability or farmer old age. The system detects duplicates and suspends payment.
Is a land record compulsory for the farmer pension?
Yes. The land record is what distinguishes this stream from the general old age pension, so a current khasra, khatauni or jamabandi extract in the applicant's name is required at application and again at verification.
How do I check the status of my farmer pension application?
Use the Pensioner Status option on ssp.rajasthan.gov.in with your application number, or your PPO number once the pension is sanctioned. The Jan Soochna Portal shows the same record against a Jan Aadhaar number.
What does applying cost?
Nothing beyond the small notified e-Mitra service charge, commonly around Rs 33. No agent may charge a fee for getting a pension sanctioned.
