Meri Punji Mera Adhikar (Delhi)
Delhi state government scheme
Meri Punji Mera Adhikar is a Delhi Women and Child Development Department drive that releases already-sanctioned but unpaid Ladli instalments to girls through Direct Benefit Transfer. At its launch on 2 March 2026, Rs 100.25 crore reached 40,642 girls in Aadhaar-linked accounts. Beneficiaries fix bank and Aadhaar records at their district WCD office.
What is Meri Punji Mera Adhikar?
Meri Punji Mera Adhikar is a payment-clearance drive run by the Department of Women and Child Development, Government of NCT of Delhi. Meri Punji Mera Adhikar does not create a new cash benefit. Instead it goes back over the Delhi Ladli scheme records, finds girls whose instalments were sanctioned but never actually credited, fixes the bank and Aadhaar details that caused the failure, and pushes the money out through Direct Benefit Transfer.
The name translates roughly as "my savings, my right", and readers searching for it in transliteration will also find it written as Meri Punji Mera Adhikaar. The framing is deliberate: the department's position is that the money already belongs to the girl, and the state's job is to remove the paperwork obstacle between her and it.
Meri Punji Mera Adhikar was launched publicly on 2 March 2026 by President Droupadi Murmu at the Sashakt Naari, Samriddh Delhi programme held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. It was one of four women-centred announcements made that day, alongside the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, free LPG cylinders on Holi and Diwali for ration-card families, and the Saheli Pink National Common Mobility Card for free travel on Delhi Transport Corporation buses.
At that event Rs 100.25 crore was transferred to 40,642 girls registered under the Ladli scheme, straight into Aadhaar-linked bank accounts. An earlier phase of the same exercise had already released roughly Rs 90 crore to close to 30,000 girls. Those two numbers are the clearest public measure of how large the unpaid backlog had become.
Who is eligible for Meri Punji Mera Adhikar?
You can claim if:
- The girl is already registered under the Delhi Ladli scheme, with a registration or sanction record held by the Department of Women and Child Development or by her school.
- An instalment has been approved in her name but not credited to her bank account.
- She is a resident of Delhi, which was the qualifying condition for Ladli enrolment in the first place.
- She has, or can open, an active bank account seeded with her Aadhaar number.
You are not eligible if:
- The girl was never enrolled under Ladli. Meri Punji Mera Adhikar is a clearance drive over an existing beneficiary list, not an open enrolment window. A family that missed Ladli entirely cannot apply here.
- The instalment in question was never sanctioned, for example, a milestone the girl had not yet reached, or a year in which she was not on the rolls.
- The claim is made by someone other than the girl or her legal parent/guardian.
- The amount has already been credited and the family simply has not checked the passbook. District offices report this as a common false alarm.
Families outside the Ladli list should look instead at the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Scheme, notified in the Delhi Gazette on 1 April 2026 as the successor programme. The Department of Women and Child Development lists it as a key service and routes applications through the Delhi e-District portal at edistrict.delhigovt.nic.in.
How much money does Meri Punji Mera Adhikar release?
Meri Punji Mera Adhikar releases the girl's own pending Ladli entitlement: whatever instalments were sanctioned in her name and left unpaid. There is no fixed per-person figure announced for the drive itself, because the amount depends entirely on how many instalments a particular girl is owed and at which stage of schooling she was enrolled.
What is published is the aggregate. Across the launch phase, Rs 100.25 crore divided among 40,642 girls works out to an average of roughly Rs 24,600 per beneficiary, though individual amounts vary widely around that average. Treat that as an arithmetic average of published totals, not as an entitlement figure: your own sanctioned amount is what the district office will confirm from the record.
Payment is made entirely by Direct Benefit Transfer. No cash is handed over at any office, and no cheque is issued. If someone tells you the money must be collected in person, that is a warning sign.
How to apply for Meri Punji Mera Adhikar and claim your pending Ladli amount
- Check your bank passbook first. Update the passbook at your bank or check the statement for the last twelve months. A surprising share of "missing" instalments were in fact credited and never noticed.
- Gather your documents. The girl's Aadhaar card, the bank passbook first page showing account number and IFSC, proof of Delhi residence, an active mobile number, and any Ladli registration slip or sanction letter you still have.
- Visit your district office of the Department of Women and Child Development. Ask specifically for the pending-payment claim form under Meri Punji Mera Adhikar. Each revenue district in Delhi has a WCD district office.
- Fill the form accurately. The single most important line is the bank account number and IFSC code: copy them character by character from the passbook, not from memory.
- Attach self-attested copies of the documents and submit the form. Ask for a receipt or acknowledgement with a date on it.
- Get the Aadhaar seeding done at your bank if the office tells you the account is not Aadhaar-seeded. This is a bank-counter task, free, and usually done the same day.
- Follow up after three to four weeks with the same district office, quoting the acknowledgement, and check the passbook again.
If the girl's school maintained the Ladli record, the school office is a useful second place to retrieve the registration number before you go to the district office.
How to check the status of your claim
Meri Punji Mera Adhikar has no dedicated public status-tracking page. Status is checked in three practical ways:
- Bank passbook or SMS alert. The DBT credit shows in the passbook with a government transfer narration. Keeping your mobile number registered with the bank means you get an SMS the moment it lands.
- The district WCD office, quoting the acknowledgement number from your claim form.
- The department headquarters at Maharana Pratap ISBT Building, Kashmere Gate, Delhi-110006, on 011-23070378 or 011-23380513, or by email at wcd[at]nic[dot]in.
Why claims get rejected or delayed
- Bank account not seeded with Aadhaar. This is the single largest cause of a failed DBT push. Seeding is done at the bank, not at the WCD office.
- Dormant or closed account. An account with no transactions for a long stretch is frozen by the bank and rejects incoming credits.
- Name mismatch. A spelling difference between the Aadhaar record and the bank record. An extra initial, a surname order swap — is enough to bounce the transfer.
- Wrong or stale IFSC code. Bank mergers over recent years changed IFSC codes for many branches. An old passbook may carry a code that no longer routes.
- No Ladli record traceable. If neither the family nor the school can produce a registration reference, the district office cannot verify the entitlement.
- Claim filed by an unrelated person. Only the girl or her parent or legal guardian can file.
Each of these is fixable. None of them is a permanent rejection. The record is corrected and the payment is re-attempted in the next disbursal batch.

Frequently asked questions
What is Meri Punji Mera Adhikar in Delhi?
Meri Punji Mera Adhikar is a payment-clearance drive of the Delhi Department of Women and Child Development that pushes out Ladli scheme instalments that were sanctioned but never credited. It is not a new cash benefit — it releases money that is already the girl's entitlement, using Direct Benefit Transfer into her Aadhaar-linked account.
How much money was released under Meri Punji Mera Adhikar?
Rs 100.25 crore was transferred to 40,642 girls at the launch event on 2 March 2026, as reported from the 'Sashakt Naari, Samriddh Delhi' programme at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. An earlier phase had already released about Rs 90 crore to close to 30,000 girls.
Who can claim under Meri Punji Mera Adhikar?
Only girls already registered under the Delhi Ladli scheme whose approved instalment has not reached their account can claim. Someone who never enrolled in Ladli cannot apply under this drive — she must instead check eligibility for the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Scheme, the successor programme notified in the Delhi Gazette on 1 April 2026.
How do I claim my pending Ladli money?
Go to your district office of the Department of Women and Child Development with your Aadhaar card, bank passbook and Ladli registration details, and ask for the pending-payment claim form. The office verifies the record, corrects the bank and Aadhaar details, and forwards the case for DBT release.
Why did my Ladli instalment never arrive?
The usual reasons are a bank account that is not seeded with Aadhaar, a closed or dormant account, a name spelling that does not match between Aadhaar and the bank record, or a wrong IFSC code after a bank merger. Each of these fails the DBT push, and the money sits unpaid until the record is corrected.
Is there any fee to claim under Meri Punji Mera Adhikar?
No. Correcting your Ladli record and receiving the pending amount is free. No official or agent may charge to "release" your money, and no department officer will ask for your bank OTP.
Has the Ladli scheme been replaced in Delhi?
Yes. The Delhi Government notified the Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Scheme in the Delhi Gazette on 1 April 2026 as the successor to the Ladli scheme. Girls already enrolled under Ladli keep their existing entitlement, and Meri Punji Mera Adhikar exists to make sure those older dues are actually paid.
