What is Fawara Sanyantra Yojana?

Fawara Sanyantra Yojana is the sprinkler irrigation set subsidy run by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Rajasthan, and delivered through the department's horticulture wing on the Raj Kisan Sathi portal. The scheme pays a large share of the cost of buying and installing a sprinkler set on a farmer's own holding, so that irrigation water reaches the crop as a fine spray instead of flowing across an open field. Farmers across Rajasthan know it by its Hindi name, Fawara Sanyantra (फव्वारा संयंत्र).

According to the Raj Kisan Sathi scheme page, the stated objective is precise: traditional flood irrigation in Rajasthan achieves only 25 to 40 percent water-use efficiency, and a sprinkler system raises that to 70 to 75 percent. In a state where most districts sit on falling groundwater tables and rainfall is both low and erratic, that difference decides whether a rabi crop can be watered at all. Higher efficiency also means better quality produce, because a sprinkler delivers a controlled, uniform quantity of water rather than drowning one corner of a field and leaving another dry.

Fawara Sanyantra Yojana is an individual beneficiary subsidy. The farmer buys the equipment, installs it on their own land, and the government reimburses the approved percentage of the cost directly into the farmer's bank account. It is not a scheme where the government supplies the equipment.

How much subsidy does Fawara Sanyantra Yojana pay?

The Raj Kisan Sathi portal states two subsidy rates:

Farmer category Subsidy rate
General farmers 70 percent of approved cost
Small and marginal farmers 75 percent of approved cost
Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers 75 percent of approved cost
Women farmers 75 percent of approved cost

Two limits apply to both rates. First, subsidy is payable on a command area of at most 5 hectares. A farmer with a larger holding can still install a bigger system, but the government share is capped at the 5-hectare entitlement. Second, the percentage is calculated on the departmental cost norm for the sprinkler set, not on whatever price a dealer quotes. If a supplier's quotation exceeds the norm, the farmer pays the difference out of pocket.

The rupee value therefore varies with the size and specification of the set installed. Farmers should ask the district Assistant Director (Horticulture) for the current cost norm applicable to their pipe diameter and coverage before signing a purchase order, rather than relying on a dealer's estimate of "how much subsidy you will get".

Payment is made through Direct Benefit Transfer. The Raj Kisan Sathi page is explicit that the amount goes straight into the farmer's account, and only after physical verification confirms the installed set meets the prescribed standard.

Who is eligible for Fawara Sanyantra Yojana?

You can apply if:

  • You are a farmer cultivating land in Rajasthan.
  • You hold at least 0.2 hectare of irrigated, cultivable land, this is the single hard land threshold the department publishes.
  • You have a working irrigation source on or serving that holding, such as a well, tubewell, farm pond or canal outlet, and can produce a certificate for it.
  • You have a jamabandi nakal for the land that is not older than 6 months.
  • You hold an Aadhaar card or Jan Aadhaar card and a bank account able to receive DBT.

You are not eligible and cannot apply if:

  • Your irrigated cultivable holding is below 0.2 hectare.
  • You have no verifiable irrigation source. A sprinkler cannot be sanctioned for rainfed land with no water to pressurise.
  • Your land records are not in your name, or the jamabandi you upload is more than 6 months old.
  • You intend to buy the equipment from a supplier not registered with the Rajasthan Agriculture Department, or to a specification the department has not approved. Such a purchase does not qualify for reimbursement even after the fact.
  • You have already drawn subsidy on the same 5-hectare command area within the period the department restricts repeat claims. Check with your district horticulture office before applying a second time on the same khasra.

Category status matters only for the rate, not for basic eligibility. A general-category farmer with 0.3 hectare is eligible at 70 percent; a woman farmer with the same holding is eligible at 75 percent.

What documents are required?

Document Mandatory Notes
Jamabandi nakal Yes Must be less than 6 months old on the date of application
Aadhaar card or Jan Aadhaar card Yes For identity and DBT account seeding
Irrigation source certificate Yes Proof of a functional well, tubewell, pond or canal outlet
Supplier quotation Yes From a manufacturer registered with the Agriculture Department
Bank passbook copy No Recommended, so the DBT credit reaches the right account

Keep clear scans. Blurred jamabandi pages and quotations without the supplier's registration details are among the commonest reasons an application is sent back.

How to apply for Fawara Sanyantra Yojana online

Fawara Sanyantra Yojana is an online-only scheme. There is no paper form to submit at a tehsil office.

  1. Open the Raj Kisan Sathi portal at rajkisan.rajasthan.gov.in, or walk into any e-Mitra kiosk with your documents and ask the operator to file the application for you. Both routes lead to the same portal.
  2. Log in through Kisan/Nagrik Login using your SSO ID. If you do not have one, create a Rajasthan SSO account at sso.rajasthan.gov.in first, using your Jan Aadhaar or Aadhaar number.
  3. Choose the Horticulture (बागवानी) section and select Fawara Sanyantra (फव्वारा संयंत्र) from the list of services.
  4. Fill in your land details, district, tehsil, village, khasra number and the area you want covered, and your bank account details.
  5. Upload the jamabandi nakal, Aadhaar or Jan Aadhaar, irrigation source certificate and the supplier quotation.
  6. Submit the application and save the application number shown on screen. You will need it for every status check afterwards.
  7. Wait for administrative sanction before buying. Purchasing the set before sanction is the single most expensive mistake farmers make on this scheme.
  8. After sanction, buy and install the sprinkler set from your chosen department-registered manufacturer, to the prescribed specification, and upload the purchase bill on the portal.
  9. Allow the departmental officer to carry out physical verification of the installed set. The subsidy is released to your account by DBT once verification passes.

The portal explicitly protects the farmer's right to choose the supplier. No official may direct you to a particular dealer.

How do I check my application status?

  1. Log in to rajkisan.rajasthan.gov.in with the same SSO ID you used to apply.
  2. Open the applications or Kisan Dashboard section.
  3. Enter your application number to see the current stage — submitted, pending at the block office, administratively sanctioned, verification pending, or payment released.
  4. If the status has not moved for several weeks, contact the district Assistant Director (Horticulture) quoting the application number.

Why do sprinkler subsidy applications get rejected?

  • Jamabandi older than 6 months, the commonest single defect. Download a fresh copy from the Apna Khata portal and re-upload.
  • No irrigation source certificate, or a certificate for a source that the field inspection cannot locate.
  • Holding below 0.2 hectare of irrigated cultivable land.
  • Quotation from an unregistered supplier, or equipment that does not match the department's specification on inspection.
  • Purchase made before sanction, leaving no sanctioned claim to reimburse.
  • Bank account not Aadhaar-seeded, so the DBT transfer fails even after approval. Get the seeding done at your bank branch and inform the district office.
  • Targets exhausted for the financial year. This is a rejection of timing, not of merit, reapply at the start of the next financial year.

What are the key dates?

The Raj Kisan Sathi page records the scheme's validity as the current financial year, which in Rajasthan runs 1 April to 31 March. There is no single published last date. In practice sanctions are issued against annual physical and financial targets, so applications filed in April, May and June face far less competition than those filed in February. Farmers planning a rabi sprinkler installation should file well before the season rather than after buying the equipment.

Where do I complain or get help?

  • Raj Kisan Sathi help centre 1: 0141-2927047
  • Raj Kisan Sathi help centre 2: 0141-2922613
  • Nodal officer: Dr. S. S. Shekhawat, Additional Director Agriculture (Extension), telephone 0141-2227849
  • Email: adldir.ext.agri@rajasthan.gov.in
  • Postal address: Room No. 114, Pant Krishi Bhawan, Janpath, Jaipur 302005

For field-level problems, a stalled file, a verification visit that never happened, or a dealer refusing to supply at the quoted price, the first stop is the district Assistant Director (Horticulture). Unresolved grievances can be lodged on the Rajasthan Sampark portal, which routes them back to the Agriculture Department with a tracking number.

Applying is free. No official or agent is authorised to charge a commission on your sprinkler subsidy, and no one from the department will ask for your SSO password or OTP.

Frequently asked questions

How much subsidy does Fawara Sanyantra Yojana give?

Fawara Sanyantra Yojana gives 70 percent subsidy to general farmers and 75 percent to small and marginal farmers, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers, and women farmers. Subsidy is payable on a command area of up to 5 hectares. The exact rupee amount depends on the departmental cost norm for the sprinkler set size you install.

What is the minimum land needed to apply for a sprinkler subsidy in Rajasthan?

A farmer must hold at least 0.2 hectare of irrigated, cultivable land. The Raj Kisan Sathi portal checks this against the jamabandi nakal you upload, which must not be more than 6 months old.

How do I apply for Fawara Sanyantra Yojana?

Apply online on the Raj Kisan Sathi portal at rajkisan.rajasthan.gov.in, either from your own computer or through any e-Mitra kiosk. There is no offline paper route for this subsidy. Upload the jamabandi, Aadhaar or Jan Aadhaar, irrigation source certificate and supplier quotation.

Can I buy the sprinkler set from any shop?

No. The sprinkler set must be bought from a manufacturer registered with the Rajasthan Agriculture Department and must meet the department's prescribed specifications. The farmer does keep the right to choose which registered supplier to buy from.

When is the subsidy money paid?

The subsidy is credited directly to the farmer's bank account after physical verification. A departmental officer inspects the installed sprinkler set, and only if it matches the prescribed specifications is the amount released through DBT.

Who cannot apply for Fawara Sanyantra Yojana?

Farmers holding less than 0.2 hectare of irrigated cultivable land, farmers with no verifiable irrigation source, and applicants who are not cultivators in Rajasthan cannot apply. Land shown in a jamabandi older than 6 months is also rejected until a fresh copy is uploaded.

Is there any fee to apply?

Applying on the Raj Kisan Sathi portal is free. An e-Mitra kiosk may charge only the government-notified service fee for assisted filing; no agent can charge extra to "get your subsidy approved".

How long does the scheme stay open?

The scheme is notified as valid for the current financial year. Applications are accepted on Raj Kisan Sathi through the year, but approvals are limited by that year's physical and financial targets, so applying early in the financial year improves the chance of sanction.
