What is Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana?

Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana is a Madhya Pradesh state income-support scheme that pays a cash top-up to farmers who are already approved beneficiaries of the central PM-KISAN scheme. Locally the scheme is called Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana or simply CM Kisan, and farmers often refer to the payment as the "state ki kist".

Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana was introduced in 2020 with an initial state contribution of Rs 4,000 per year. The Madhya Pradesh government subsequently raised the annual state amount to Rs 6,000 per year, paid in three instalments of Rs 2,000, so that a qualifying farmer in Madhya Pradesh receives Rs 12,000 a year once the central PM-KISAN Rs 6,000 is added.

The scheme is administered jointly by the Revenue Department, which owns the land-record and beneficiary verification systems, and the Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department. Delivery runs through the Smart Application for Revenue Administration portal, saara.mp.gov.in, which hosts the beneficiary status enquiry.

Key features

  • 100 per cent state-funded top-up over a central scheme.
  • Paid by Direct Benefit Transfer into an Aadhaar-seeded bank account.
  • No separate registration form. The state list is derived from PM-KISAN.
  • Around 82 lakh farmers in Madhya Pradesh are covered under the scheme.
  • Instalments are released at public transfer events rather than fixed dates.

Who is eligible for Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana?

You are covered if:

  • You are a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
  • You are an approved beneficiary of PM-KISAN with a Madhya Pradesh registration, not merely someone who has submitted a PM-KISAN form.
  • Your family owns cultivable agricultural land recorded in your name in the Madhya Pradesh revenue records.
  • Your Aadhaar-based e-KYC under PM-KISAN is complete.
  • Your bank account is Aadhaar-seeded and NPCI-mapped so DBT can reach it.

You cannot apply, and are not eligible, if:

  • You are not on the PM-KISAN approved list for Madhya Pradesh. This is the gateway condition; there is no independent route into the state scheme.
  • You are an income tax payer in the last assessment year.
  • You are a serving or retired employee of the central or state government, a PSU or an autonomous body. Group D and Class IV staff are exempt from this exclusion and stay eligible.
  • You draw a monthly pension of Rs 10,000 or more, again excluding Group D and Class IV retirees.
  • You hold or have held a constitutional post, minister, MP, MLA, mayor or district panchayat chairperson.
  • You are a practising professional registered with a professional body; doctor, engineer, lawyer, chartered accountant or architect, or a family member of one.
  • The land is held by a trust, society or institution rather than a farming family.
  • You are a landless labourer, tenant farmer or sharecropper with no land in your own name, since PM-KISAN itself excludes them.
  • You are a farmer of another state, even if you own land in Madhya Pradesh but your PM-KISAN record sits elsewhere.

Madhya Pradesh has also linked continued eligibility to farm-fire compliance: the state has said that farmers found burning crop stubble can be struck off Kisan Samman-linked assistance. Avoid stubble burning if you want an uninterrupted payment record.

How to apply for Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana

Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana has no separate application form. What you actually do is get yourself correctly registered and verified under PM-KISAN in Madhya Pradesh, after which the state list picks you up.

  1. Register under PM-KISAN at pmkisan.gov.in using New Farmer Registration, or ask the Village Level Entrepreneur at your nearest Common Service Centre to do it. Keep the registration number safe.
  2. Complete Aadhaar e-KYC — OTP based on pmkisan.gov.in if your mobile is Aadhaar-linked, face authentication through the PM-KISAN mobile app, or biometric e-KYC at a CSC.
  3. Get your land record seeded. Visit your patwari or tehsil office with your khasra/khatauni so the Revenue Department links the holding to your PM-KISAN record in the state system.
  4. Seed your bank account with Aadhaar at your bank branch and ask specifically for NPCI DBT mapping, not just Aadhaar entry in the account file.
  5. Confirm inclusion on saara.mp.gov.in through the CM Kisan Kalyan Yojana Beneficiary Status link, searching by Aadhaar, bank account or PM-KISAN ID.
  6. Follow up locally with the patwari, tehsildar or the district agriculture office if the status screen shows your record as pending after a full instalment cycle.

How to apply offline in your village

  1. Take your Aadhaar card, land papers and bank passbook to the nearest Common Service Centre, kisan seva kendra or your patwari halka office.
  2. Ask for PM-KISAN registration or correction, and biometric e-KYC at the centre if your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar.
  3. Collect the acknowledgement slip with the registration number and keep it for status checks.

How much is paid and when?

Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana pays Rs 2,000 per instalment, three times a year, totalling Rs 6,000. The money is credited directly to the Aadhaar-seeded bank account by DBT; there is no cheque, no cash and no intermediary.

Payment dates are not fixed to a calendar. Madhya Pradesh typically releases the money at a state-level transfer event where the Chief Minister credits all beneficiaries at once. The 2025-26 second instalment was transferred on 14 August 2025, when the state announced a large single-day transfer to farmers' accounts. The state cabinet approves the outlay for each round before the transfer, which is why a Rs 6,000 crore approval for CM Kisan Kalyan disbursal appears in cabinet reporting.

Because the state amount and the central amount are separate transfers, they usually arrive on different dates and may show as two different credit entries in the passbook. Do not assume a missed state instalment simply because the PM-KISAN credit came first.

How do you check status and payment history?

  1. Open saara.mp.gov.in in a browser.
  2. Select CM Kisan Kalyan Yojana Beneficiary Status.
  3. Choose your search key; Aadhaar number, bank account number or PM-KISAN registration ID, and enter it with the captcha.
  4. Read the instalment table on the result screen, which shows which rounds were credited and which are pending.

For the central half of the payment, use Know Your Status on pmkisan.gov.in with the same registration number. Comparing the two screens is the fastest way to tell whether a problem is central or state-side.

Why do payments get rejected or stopped?

  • e-KYC not done. The single largest cause. Complete it on the PM-KISAN portal or app.
  • Bank account not NPCI-mapped. The account may accept normal transfers but still reject DBT. Ask the branch for Aadhaar seeding for DBT specifically.
  • Land record not verified by the tehsil, so the state system holds the record as unconfirmed.
  • Name or spelling mismatch between Aadhaar, the bank record and the land record.
  • Exclusion triggered, an income tax return filed, or a government service record detected during data matching.
  • Duplicate claim by a second adult in the same family.
  • Account closed, dormant or frozen, or a wrong IFSC after a bank merger. Bank mergers in recent years have changed IFSC codes for many rural branches, and a stale IFSC quietly fails the transfer.

Each of these is fixable. Correct Aadhaar-linked details through the PM-KISAN Farmers Corner update option, land issues through the patwari, and bank issues at the branch.

Where do you complain if the money does not arrive?

  • SAARA portal helpline: 0755-2525804, 10 am to 6 pm, all days.
  • District Collector or Tehsildar office for land record and verification disputes.
  • District Deputy Director of Agriculture for beneficiary list disputes.
  • CM Helpline 181 for Madhya Pradesh grievances, which routes the complaint to the responsible district officer with a tracking number.
  • PM-KISAN helpline 155261 for problems that originate in the central record.

Keep the complaint number given to you. Payment grievances in Madhya Pradesh are tracked at district level and follow-up on the same number is far more effective than filing a fresh complaint each time.

Frequently asked questions

How much money does Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana give?

Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana pays Rs 6,000 per year from the Madhya Pradesh state government, in three instalments of Rs 2,000 each. Added to the Rs 6,000 paid centrally under PM-KISAN, an eligible Madhya Pradesh farmer receives Rs 12,000 a year in total income support.

Do I have to apply separately for Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana?

No separate application form exists. Madhya Pradesh builds the CM Kisan Kalyan beneficiary list from the approved PM-KISAN database for the state, so a farmer whose PM-KISAN record is approved and verified is picked up automatically. If you are not yet in PM-KISAN, register there first.

Who is not eligible for Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana?

Anyone excluded from PM-KISAN is also excluded here — income tax payers, serving and retired government employees other than Group D staff, pensioners drawing Rs 10,000 or more a month, holders of constitutional posts, practising doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects, and institutional landholders. Farmers of other states are not eligible.

How do I check my CM Kisan Kalyan Yojana payment status?

Open saara.mp.gov.in and use the "CM Kisan Kalyan Yojana Beneficiary Status" link. You can search using your Aadhaar number, bank account number or PM-KISAN registration ID, and the screen shows instalment-wise credit history.

Why has my Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan instalment not come?

The commonest causes are incomplete PM-KISAN e-KYC, a bank account that is not Aadhaar-seeded with NPCI, a land record still unverified by the tehsil, or a name mismatch between Aadhaar and the bank. Fix the PM-KISAN side first, because the state payment follows the same verified record.

Is Mukhyamantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana paid per farmer or per family?

It is paid per family, following the PM-KISAN definition of husband, wife and minor children as one beneficiary family. Two adults of the same family cannot both draw the Rs 6,000.

When are the instalments released?

Madhya Pradesh releases the state instalments at large public transfer events through the year rather than on fixed calendar dates. The 2025-26 second instalment was transferred by the Chief Minister on 14 August 2025. Watch saara.mp.gov.in and state announcements for the next date.

Is there any fee to get added to the list?

No. Inclusion is free and automatic from the PM-KISAN record. No agent, kiosk operator or middleman can charge you to "add your name", and no government officer will ask for your OTP or bank PIN.
