Madhya Pradesh state government scheme
ST Girl Child Literacy Incentive Amount Class 11th, known in Madhya Pradesh as Kanya Saksharta Protsahan Yojana, pays a one-time incentive of Rs 3,000 to a Scheduled Tribe girl who passes Class 10 and takes regular admission in Class 11. The Tribal Affairs Department credits the money to the girl's own bank account through the MPTAAS portal.
What is the ST Girl Child Literacy Incentive for Class 11?
The ST Girl Child Literacy Incentive Amount for Class 11 to known in Madhya Pradesh by its Hindi name Kanya Saksharta Protsahan Yojana: is a one-time cash incentive of Rs 3,000 paid by the Tribal Affairs Department (Janjatiya Karya Vibhag) of the Government of Madhya Pradesh to a Scheduled Tribe girl who passes Class 10 and takes regular admission in Class 11.
The scheme addresses a specific and well-documented drop-off. Tribal girls in Madhya Pradesh complete Class 10 in large numbers but a significant share do not continue to the higher secondary stage, because the point of transition brings new costs; fees, books, a change of school, often travel to a larger village or town. Kanya Saksharta Protsahan Yojana puts cash in the girl's hands exactly at that moment rather than months later.
Madhya Pradesh has the largest Scheduled Tribe population of any Indian state, so a scheme of this kind reaches a very wide group. The Tribal Affairs Department runs it alongside its post-matric scholarship, hostel and Aawasiya Vidyalaya programmes, all of which are administered on the department's MPTAAS platform (Tribal Affairs and Scheduled Caste Welfare Automation System).
Key features
- Rs 3,000, paid once, on entry into Class 11.
- Paid directly into the girl student's own bank account, not a parent's.
- Delivered through MPTAAS, the department's online sanction and payment system.
- No income ceiling is published for this particular incentive, unlike the post-matric scholarship which carries an income test.
Who is eligible for the Class 11 literacy incentive?
A girl student qualifies if:
- She belongs to a Scheduled Tribe notified for Madhya Pradesh and holds a valid ST caste certificate from the competent authority.
- She is a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
- She has passed Class 10 from a recognised board.
- She has taken regular admission in Class 11. The incentive is for the transition into higher secondary study.
- She has a Samagra ID and a bank account in her own name that can receive DBT.
The following cannot apply:
- Boys. The incentive is limited to girl students by design.
- Girls of other categories, Scheduled Caste, OBC and general-category girls are not eligible for this particular incentive, though other MP scholarships may cover them.
- Girls who are not permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh, even if they are studying in the state.
- Girls who did not pass Class 10 or who have taken admission through a private, correspondence or open-schooling route rather than regular admission.
- Girls repeating Class 11, since the incentive is paid once on first entry.
How much is the incentive and when is it paid?
The incentive is Rs 3,000, paid once. It is credited by direct benefit transfer to the Aadhaar-seeded bank account of the student after the case is sanctioned on MPTAAS.
The payment is not a scholarship instalment and is not repeated in Class 12. A girl who wants continuing support for Classes 11 and 12 should also apply for the post-matric scholarship for Scheduled Tribe students on the same MPTAAS portal, which is a separate, income-tested benefit and is renewed each year.
The timing depends on when the school forwards the verified list and when the district office sanctions it. Payments usually follow the admission season rather than arriving on a fixed calendar date.
What documents are required?

| Samagra ID | Yes | Used to create the MPTAAS beneficiary profile |
| Class 10 marksheet | Yes | Proof of having passed the qualifying class |
| Class 11 admission proof | Yes | Bonafide certificate or admission receipt |
| Aadhaar card | Yes | For e-KYC and account seeding |

| Madhya Pradesh residence proof | Yes | Permanent residence in the state |
How to apply for the ST girl child literacy incentive
- Open a bank account in the girl's own name and get it seeded with her Aadhaar number. Payment fails at the last step if this is not done, and this is the single most common cause of delay.
- Register or update the beneficiary profile on MPTAAS. Go to tribal.mp.gov.in, open the MPTAAS section, and register the profile using the Samagra ID and the ST caste certificate number. MPTAAS validates the caste certificate against the revenue department's database.
- Log in and select the scheme for the girl child incentive on admission to Class 11 for the current academic session.
- Fill the application with the Class 10 result details, the Class 11 school or higher secondary school code, and the bank account details.
- Upload the documents: caste certificate, Class 10 marksheet, admission proof, Aadhaar and passbook, and submit. Save the application number shown.
- Get the school to verify. The Principal or the Development Block Education Officer verifies the admission and forwards the case to the District Tribal Welfare Officer for sanction.
- Track the case on MPTAAS using the application number until the status shows sanctioned and paid.
How to apply offline if you cannot use MPTAAS
- Visit the higher secondary school where the girl has taken admission and ask the Principal for the scheme's verification format.
- Submit copies of the ST certificate, Class 10 marksheet, Samagra ID, Aadhaar and the girl's bank passbook to the school.
- Ask the school to enter the case on MPTAAS on the student's behalf, or approach the Development Block Education Officer (Tribal Welfare) or the District Tribal Welfare Office, which are named in the department's scheme entry as the contact points.
- Collect an acknowledgement carrying the application number.
An MPOnline kiosk can also fill the MPTAAS form for the notified service charge.
How to check the status of the incentive
- Log in to MPTAAS on tribal.mp.gov.in with the registered profile.
- Open the application or payment status option and enter the application number or the Samagra ID.
- Read the stage shown, pending at institute, pending at district, sanctioned, or paid. "Pending at institute" means the school has not yet verified the case, and that is fixed at the school, not at the district office.
- If the status shows paid but no money has arrived, check the bank account's Aadhaar seeding through the NPCI mapper at your bank branch.
Common reasons an application is rejected or stuck
- Caste certificate not validated on MPTAAS, usually because the applicant entered an old paper certificate number rather than the digital certificate.
- Samagra ID mismatch: name or date of birth on Samagra differs from the Class 10 marksheet.
- Bank account in a parent's name, which the system will not accept.
- Account not Aadhaar-seeded, so the DBT bounces.
- Admission not regular: open-school or private candidature does not qualify.
- School has not verified the record, leaving the case pending indefinitely.
- Duplicate application for the same student in the same session.
Grievance route and a caution on the scheme's status
For any problem with sanction or payment, the escalation path is the school Principal, then the Development Block Education Officer (Tribal Welfare), then the District Tribal Welfare Officer (Assistant Commissioner / District Organiser, Tribal Affairs), and finally the Commissioner, Tribal Affairs Department, Bhopal. Complaints can also be filed on the CM Helpline, 181, which assigns a tracking number and routes the case to the department.
One honest caveat. The Tribal Affairs Department's own scheme grid on the CM Helpline portal records Kanya Saksharta Protsahan Yojana with a note that it has been merged into a consolidated scheme head, while state communications and district material continue to describe the Rs 3,000 incentive for ST girls entering Class 11 as live. Both things can be true at once, a scheme can be merged for budget and administration while the benefit continues to be paid. Before treating a non-payment as a rejection, confirm the current year's position with the District Tribal Welfare Office rather than relying on any secondary website.

Frequently asked questions
How much money does a tribal girl get for joining Class 11 in Madhya Pradesh?
A Scheduled Tribe girl who passes Class 10 and takes regular admission in Class 11 receives a one-time incentive of Rs 3,000 under Kanya Saksharta Protsahan Yojana, credited by the Tribal Affairs Department to her own bank account.
Who is not eligible for the Class 11 girl child literacy incentive?
Boys are not eligible, girls outside the Scheduled Tribe category are not eligible, and a girl who is not a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh cannot apply. A girl who did not pass Class 10 or who has not taken regular admission in Class 11 is also outside the scheme.
Is the incentive paid every year?
No. The incentive is a one-time payment made at the point of entry into Class 11. Continuing support for Classes 11 and 12 comes from the separate post-matric scholarship for Scheduled Tribe students on the same MPTAAS portal.
Can the money go into the mother's or father's account?
No. The incentive is credited to the girl student's own bank account, which must be Aadhaar-seeded. Families whose daughter has no account should open a basic savings account in her name before applying.
Where do I apply for the incentive?
Applications are made through MPTAAS, the Tribal Affairs Department's online system reached from tribal.mp.gov.in, after the beneficiary profile is registered with the Samagra ID and caste certificate. The school or the Development Block Education Officer forwards the verified case.
Does the scheme still exist?
The Rs 3,000 incentive for Scheduled Tribe girls entering Class 11 continues to be paid, but the department's own scheme grid on the CM Helpline portal shows Kanya Saksharta Protsahan Yojana as having been merged into a consolidated scheme head. Confirm the current year's status with the District Tribal Welfare Office before assuming a delay is a rejection.
What is the deadline to apply?
There is no fixed statutory last date; the window is tied to the academic session and MPTAAS announces closing dates each year. Apply as soon as the Class 11 admission is complete, normally from July onwards.
Is there any fee to apply?
No. Applying under Kanya Saksharta Protsahan Yojana is free. No school, agent or cyber cafe operator is authorised to charge a fee for sanctioning the incentive, though an MPOnline kiosk may charge its notified assistance charge for typing the form.
