What is Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?

Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is an income-support top-up run by the Agriculture Department, Government of Rajasthan. The scheme was launched on 30 June 2024 and adds Rs 2,000 a year of state money to what a Rajasthan farmer already receives under the central Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. Farmers usually call it the CM Kisan Samman Nidhi, or simply the "state ki kisan nidhi".

The arithmetic is the clearest way to understand the scheme. PM-KISAN pays Rs 6,000 a year in three instalments of Rs 2,000. Rajasthan adds Rs 2,000 a year, released in instalments of Rs 1,000. A farmer in Jhunjhunu or Kota who is fully verified under PM-KISAN therefore receives Rs 8,000 a year in total, all of it by direct bank transfer.

Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana deliberately does not build a separate eligibility machine. The state uses the central PM-KISAN beneficiary database, which its own revenue and agriculture officers already verify, and pays the extra amount against the same approved list. That design keeps the administrative cost low and means the state amount reaches the account the farmer already knows.

Who is eligible for Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?

Eligibility is inherited from PM-KISAN, so the rules are the central rules applied inside Rajasthan.

You can receive the state amount if:

  • You are a resident farmer of Rajasthan and an Indian citizen.
  • Your family owns cultivable land recorded in your name, verified in the state's land records.
  • You are an approved, active PM-KISAN beneficiary. The record shows e-KYC complete, land seeding done and Aadhaar-bank seeding done.
  • Your bank account is Aadhaar-seeded so that DBT can reach it.
  • Your family holds a Jan Aadhaar card, which Rajasthan uses to identify state beneficiaries.

You cannot apply, or are not eligible, if you fall in any PM-KISAN exclusion category:

  • Institutional landholders, land held by a trust, society, company or institution rather than a farming family.
  • Constitutional post holders, present or former, including ministers, MPs, MLAs, mayors and district panchayat chairpersons.
  • Serving or retired employees of central or state governments, PSUs and autonomous bodies, except Group D and Class IV staff who remain eligible.
  • Pensioners drawing Rs 10,000 or more a month, again excluding Group D and Class IV retirees.
  • Income tax payers in the last assessment year.
  • Practising professionals; doctors, engineers, lawyers, chartered accountants and architects registered with their professional bodies, and their families.
  • Tenant farmers, sharecroppers and landless agricultural labourers, because the land must be in the applicant's own name.

One benefit is paid per family, defined as husband, wife and minor children. If both spouses are registered separately, the duplicate is flagged and payment is held.

How to apply for Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

There is no separate state application form. What you apply for is PM-KISAN; the state top-up then follows automatically. The steps are:

  1. Go to pmkisan.gov.in and, under Farmers Corner, open New Farmer Registration. Choose rural or urban, enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number and state as Rajasthan, and complete the captcha.
  2. Verify the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number, then fill in your personal details, bank account details and land details including khasra or survey number and area of holding.
  3. Submit the form and save the registration number shown on screen.
  4. Complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC — by OTP on the portal, by face authentication in the PM-KISAN mobile app, or biometrically at a Common Service Centre or e-Mitra kiosk.
  5. Ensure your Jan Aadhaar record is current and your bank account is Aadhaar-seeded, so the state can map you and release the Rs 1,000 instalments.
  6. Track approval under Know Your Status on pmkisan.gov.in, and watch the Rajasthan payment through the Jan Soochna portal.

Offline, take your Aadhaar card, Jan Aadhaar card, land records and bank passbook to your nearest e-Mitra kiosk, Common Service Centre, patwari or the Assistant Agriculture Officer at the panchayat samiti, and ask for PM-KISAN registration. Biometric e-KYC done at the kiosk is the route to use when your mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar.

How much is paid and when?

Component Amount per year Instalment size
PM-KISAN (central) Rs 6,000 Rs 2,000, three times
Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (Rajasthan) Rs 2,000 Rs 1,000
Total for a verified Rajasthan farmer Rs 8,000 :

The state instalments are released by the Agriculture Department on dates it announces, usually timed to follow a central PM-KISAN release. Money is credited directly by DBT; there is no cheque, no cash counter and no intermediary.

How do you check the payment status?

  1. Open pmkisan.gov.in and use Know Your Status with your registration number. If you do not know the number, retrieve it with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  2. Check that all three flags: e-KYC, land seeding and Aadhaar-bank seeding: read complete. Any one showing incomplete will stop both the central and the state instalment.
  3. Open jansoochna.rajasthan.gov.in, which publishes scheme-wise beneficiary and payment information for Rajasthan, to confirm the state credit.
  4. Check the bank passbook or SMS alert for the actual credit entry.

Why do instalments stop?

  • e-KYC not completed. This is the largest single cause across the state.
  • Bank account not Aadhaar-seeded, so the DBT transaction fails and returns.
  • Name mismatch between Aadhaar, bank records and the land record.
  • Land record not verified by the revenue department, leaving land seeding incomplete.
  • Exclusion triggered, for example an income tax return filed in the last assessment year or a government job in the family head's name.
  • Duplicate claim by another adult in the same family.
  • Jan Aadhaar not updated, which can break the mapping the state uses to route its own Rs 1,000 instalments even when PM-KISAN itself is paying.

Corrections to self-registered details can be made through the "Updation of Self Registered Farmer" option on pmkisan.gov.in. Land record and eligibility disputes have to be settled with the patwari, tehsildar or the district agriculture office, because the portal cannot override the revenue record.

Where to get help

  • Rajasthan CM Helpline: 181 for state-side grievances, including non-receipt of the state instalment.
  • District Agriculture Office or Assistant Agriculture Officer at the panchayat samiti, for beneficiary list and verification questions.
  • PM-KISAN helpdesk query form on pmkisan.gov.in for central-side problems such as e-KYC failure or a stuck registration.
  • e-Mitra kiosk for assisted e-KYC and status checks.

Registration is free at every step. No agent can charge a fee to add your name to the beneficiary list, and no government official will ever ask for your OTP or bank password.

Bank account passbook
Account must be Aadhaar-seeded and active, or the instalment fails at the DBT stage.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana pay?

Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana pays Rs 2,000 a year from the Rajasthan state budget, released in instalments of Rs 1,000. Combined with the Rs 6,000 a year from central PM-KISAN, an eligible farmer in Rajasthan receives Rs 8,000 a year.

Do I need to apply separately for the state amount?

No. There is no separate application form. Rajasthan draws its beneficiary list from the approved PM-KISAN database, so a farmer whose PM-KISAN record is active and verified is picked up automatically for the state top-up.

When was the scheme launched?

Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana was launched on 30 June 2024, when the Rajasthan government announced the additional Rs 2,000 a year for PM-KISAN beneficiaries in the state.

Who is not eligible for this state top-up?

Anyone excluded from PM-KISAN is also excluded here — income tax payers, serving and retired government employees other than Group D staff, pensioners drawing Rs 10,000 or more a month, holders of constitutional posts, institutional landholders and practising professionals.

Why has the state instalment not reached my account?

The most common cause is a problem on the PM-KISAN side — incomplete e-KYC, an unverified land record, or a bank account not seeded with Aadhaar. Fix the PM-KISAN flag first, because the state payment follows it.

Can a tenant farmer or agricultural labourer get this money?

No. Because eligibility is inherited from PM-KISAN, only land-holding farmer families with cultivable land recorded in their own name qualify. Tenants, sharecroppers and landless labourers cannot apply.

How do I check whether the state instalment has been paid?

Use the Jan Soochna portal at jansoochna.rajasthan.gov.in, which publishes scheme-wise beneficiary and payment information for Rajasthan, and check your PM-KISAN status separately at pmkisan.gov.in.

Is there any fee to be added to the beneficiary list?

No. Both PM-KISAN registration and the Rajasthan top-up are free. No agent or official can charge money to add a name, and no genuine official will ask for your OTP.
