Madhya Pradesh state government scheme
MP Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana is the Madhya Pradesh farm machinery subsidy scheme run on the DBT portal dbt.mpdage.org, where farmers apply for a grant on tractors, harvesters, rotavators, seed drills and dozens of other implements. Applications open in notified windows and selection is by computerised lottery, with subsidy rates set higher for small, marginal, SC, ST and women farmers.
What is MP Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana?
MP Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana is the farm machinery subsidy programme of the Madhya Pradesh Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, delivered through the Directorate of Agricultural Engineering. Farmers know it in Hindi as ई-कृषि यंत्र अनुदान योजना; e-Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana, because the whole process runs online on the department's DBT portal.
The scheme's purpose is straightforward: mechanisation in Madhya Pradesh is uneven, and a tractor, a combine harvester or even a rotavator costs more than a small holding can finance in one season. Under the scheme the state pays a fixed share of the price of a notified implement directly into the farmer's bank account after the purchase is verified.
According to the department's DBT portal at dbt.mpdage.org, the portal carries three separate application streams:
- Krishi Yantra (agricultural machinery), administered by the Directorate of Agricultural Engineering. This is the stream this guide covers.
- Sinchai Upkaran (irrigation equipment), administered by the Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department.
- Micro-irrigation and horticulture equipment; administered by the Horticulture and Food Processing Department, whose applications are routed to mpfsts.mp.gov.in.
Applying in the wrong stream is a common error and the application is simply not considered, so read the heading on the portal card before clicking "आवेदन करें".
What machinery is covered under the scheme?
The notified list is revised each year by the Directorate of Agricultural Engineering and runs to dozens of implements. Broadly it covers:
- Power units: tractors and power tillers.
- Tillage and land preparation, rotavator, cultivator, disc harrow, sub-soiler, laser land leveller.
- Sowing and planting, seed drill, seed-cum-fertiliser drill, zero-till seed drill, ridge furrow planter, paddy transplanter.
- Harvesting and threshing; combine harvester, reaper, reaper binder, multi-crop thresher, straw reaper.
- Crop protection and residue management; power sprayers, straw management systems, happy seeder-type machines.
- Post-harvest and processing: pulse and other small processing units where notified.
The exact list, and the ceiling amount attached to each machine, are published on the portal for each window. Do not rely on an implement being covered because it was covered last year, check the current notification.
How much subsidy does MP Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana give?
Subsidy under this scheme is a percentage of the cost with a rupee ceiling, and both vary by three things at once: the implement, the farmer's social category, and whether the holding is small or marginal. The Directorate does not publish one flat rate, and quoting a single number for the whole scheme would be wrong.
The reliable way to get your figure is the subsidy calculator on dbt.mpdage.org. It asks for the machine, the category (general, SC, ST) and the holding class (small or marginal versus other), and returns the exact amount payable. Higher rates are reserved for small and marginal farmers, SC and ST farmers and women farmers; general-category farmers with larger holdings get the lower rate for the same machine.
The subsidy is paid after purchase, not before. The farmer pays the dealer in full, or arranges a bank loan, and the department credits the subsidy to the Aadhaar-seeded account once the machine is physically verified.
Who is eligible for MP Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana?
You can apply if:
- You are a farmer resident in Madhya Pradesh holding agricultural land in the state, evidenced by a khasra or B-1 record.
- You have an Aadhaar number and an Aadhaar-seeded bank account capable of receiving DBT.
- You have a working mobile number, because the OTP, the lottery result and the purchase permission all come by SMS.
- You are applying in an open window for the machinery group you want.
- You can furnish the security deposit demand draft where the notification for that machine requires one.
You are not eligible and cannot apply if:
- You do not hold agricultural land in Madhya Pradesh. The scheme is for farmers of the state, and a land record in another state does not qualify.
- You have already received subsidy on the same implement within the barred period fixed in the guidelines for that machine. The Aadhaar-linked record catches repeat claims.
- You bought the machine before selection. A purchase made without a portal purchase permission is not eligible for reimbursement.
- You bought from a dealer not registered on the portal, where the notification requires purchase from a registered dealer.
- Your bank account is not Aadhaar-seeded, so the DBT cannot be executed.
- You applied in the wrong stream or after the window closed.
Priority in rate, not in eligibility, goes to small and marginal farmers, SC and ST farmers and women farmers. Being a general-category farmer does not exclude you; it changes the percentage.

How to apply for MP Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana online
- Open dbt.mpdage.org and confirm from the home page that the window for your machinery group is open. Windows are notified separately for different machine groups and are often only a week or two long.
- Choose the correct stream: Krishi Yantra for farm machinery, Sinchai Upkaran for irrigation equipment, or the horticulture stream. Click "आवेदन करें" on that card.
- Register with your Aadhaar number and verify the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Your name, father's name and address are pulled from the Aadhaar and Samagra records.
- Enter your land details; district, tehsil, village, khasra number and area, and your category, so the portal can compute the correct rate.
- Select the implement and run the subsidy calculator to see the exact amount payable to you for that machine.
- Arrange the security deposit demand draft if the notification requires one for that machine, and enter the DD number, date, amount and issuing bank in the form.
- Upload the documents; Aadhaar, B-1, bank passbook page, caste certificate where claimed, and submit the application. Save the application number.
- Wait for the lottery. The department runs a computerised draw after the window closes and publishes the selected and waiting lists on the portal. The result also reaches you by SMS.
- Take the purchase permission, buy the machine from a registered dealer, and upload the bill and serial number within the time limit stated in the permission.
- Present the machine for physical verification by the agriculture engineering staff. On a clean verification, the subsidy is credited to your account by DBT.
How to check your application and payment status
- Open dbt.mpdage.org and go to the applicant login for your stream.
- Log in with your Aadhaar number and the OTP.
- Open application status to see whether you are in the selected list, the waiting list or the rejected list for the current draw.
- After purchase, the same screen shows the verification stage and the payment status once the subsidy is released.
Lottery results are also published as downloadable lists on the portal, district by district, so you can find your name without logging in.
Why do MP Krishi Yantra subsidy applications fail?
- Not selected in the lottery. The commonest outcome, and not a defect in the application. Apply again in the next window.
- Machine bought before the purchase permission. Non-recoverable. Wait for the permission.
- Bill uploaded after the deadline stated in the purchase permission, which cancels the selection and usually moves the slot to the waiting list.
- Bank account not Aadhaar-seeded, or a name mismatch between Aadhaar and the bank record, which stops the DBT after sanction.
- Land record does not match the applicant. A khasra in a father's or brother's name without a supporting document.
- Category claimed without a certificate, which reduces the sanction to the general rate or leads to rejection.
- Serial number mismatch between the bill and the machine presented at physical verification.
Most of these are documentation errors that can be avoided by preparing the papers before the window opens rather than after.
Where do I get help?
- District Deputy Director of Agriculture / Assistant Agriculture Engineer office in your district. The working authority for machinery subsidy, verification and the release of the DD.
- Krishi Vigyan Kendra and the block-level Senior Agriculture Development Officer for help with the online form.
- CM Helpline 181. The Madhya Pradesh grievance line for all state schemes, which issues a complaint number.
- mpkrishi.mp.gov.in, the Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department's main site, which carries notifications and circulars.
Applying is free apart from the security deposit where notified. No one can guarantee you a lottery selection, and any person offering to do so for money is running a fraud.

Frequently asked questions
What is MP Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana?
MP Krishi Yantra Anudan Yojana is the Madhya Pradesh government's subsidy scheme for buying farm machinery, operated by the Directorate of Agricultural Engineering through the DBT portal dbt.mpdage.org. A farmer applies online in a notified window, is selected by lottery, buys the machine from a registered dealer and receives the subsidy by bank transfer after physical verification.
Where do I apply for the MP farm machinery subsidy?
Apply only at dbt.mpdage.org, the official DBT portal of the Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department. The same portal carries three separate application streams: agricultural machinery, irrigation equipment, and micro-irrigation and horticulture equipment, and you must enter the correct one for the machine you want.
Is selection first-come-first-served?
No. Selection is by computerised lottery from all valid applications received in the notified window, so applying on the first hour of the first day gives no advantage. Applications are held until the window closes and the draw is run afterwards.
How much subsidy will I get on a tractor or a rotavator?
The subsidy differs for every implement and every farmer category, so use the subsidy calculator on dbt.mpdage.org rather than relying on a general figure. The portal calculator asks for the machine, the farmer category and the holding class and returns the exact amount payable for that combination.
What is the dharohar rashi in the MP Krishi Yantra application?
Dharohar rashi is the security deposit demand draft that the higher-value machinery groups require with the online application. The DD is drawn in favour of the authority named in that year's notification, and its number and date are entered in the form; it is returned or adjusted according to the rules of the notification.
Can I buy the machine before applying?
No. Buy only after your name is drawn in the lottery and the portal issues a purchase permission. A machine bought before selection does not attract subsidy, and this is the single most expensive mistake farmers make under this scheme.
Can I get the subsidy for the same machine twice?
No. The portal keeps an Aadhaar-linked record of every subsidised machine, and a farmer who has drawn a subsidy on a particular implement is barred from claiming it again for a fixed number of years set in the guidelines for that machine.
Is there any fee to apply on dbt.mpdage.org?
No. Registration and application on dbt.mpdage.org are free apart from the security deposit demand draft where the notification requires one. No agent or kiosk is entitled to charge you for "getting the lottery in your name".
